well your question will find two type of answers, few hardliners who will take it as what Holy Book Of Quran says and that it actually much before the Adam as someone has answered. Adam was the first prophet which He had sent.
But the practical aspect for a historian is a bit different. It says that it came some 500 years ago. Exact dates are not known however few facts have been drawn towards the time when first time things related to islam were discovered.
So you can choose any way of thinking and decide as the answer.
The point here is that both the answers are correct as one must not question someones faith.
However for knowledge sake the other answer is true

I have no idea when Islam was formed. However, the Koran was written by one man. Who, happened to be a child molester and rapist. So much for a wonderful and peace loving religion. In contrast, the Bible was written by multiple men across multiple continants and make up a total of 66 different books that all line up with each other. Reason being-it's God's Word.

Islam (as was preached by prophet Muhammed) started 1425 years ago. However, Muslims claim that teh real soul of Islam was from Adam's time

the 'prophet' mohammed was born in the sixth century c.e....i think the year was around 560 or so and he 'founded' islam when he was in his twenties i believe...so yes, it has been approximately 1400 years give or take, since that psychopathic religion began...

all prophets sent by god since Adam(PBUH) till MohammaD (PBUH) has been introducing the islam to ppl but mohammad the last prophet is the one who were sent the qur'an the holy book of islam and was chosen to spread islam allover the world

islam started with the Creation of the first man on earth Hazrat Adam.....but as so many prophets came it ended with them....actual spread of islam was started by Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)....in 620 A.D...in 622A.D !ST HIJRAT STARTED
