Before you put your teeth in? I would think he would do that after you put your teeth in. Maybe hes not growling maybe hes telling you to go to the dentist.

How old is he? Eyesight? He recognizes you with your teeth as you are every day but when you take them out he can't see the same so he is not so much as afraid I think, as he is not sure if you are a stranger.
Try taking them in/out several times a day petting and taking to him and do it matter of fact NOT a deal. That's important.
I don't want to insult you but maybe you should forget the perfume and beef up on grooming, everywhere. Maybe he also hates the smell of your perfume!
Good luck

Dogs growl for many different reasons, but fear isn't one of them.

I can see why.
I suggest you sleep with your teeth in and wash them in the morning where the dog cant see you.
Good dog.
