My one year old eats table food/finger food snacks and dinner. But his breakfast and lunch are still babyfood. He just doesn't get enough food in his mouth with those little hands, it seems to me for him to get enough food, if I were to switch to table food only. I think he still needs the babyfood until he's a better eater. What's a general guidline for when babies/toddlers stop eating babyfood?

My son still ate baby food to help fill him up from time to time, and so he could have a more balanced diet, until he was a little over 18 months. I don't think a guideline will be any real help. Every child is different. Keep trying to give her table food, but if she isnt ready for it she still needs to eat something. Shell slowly eat more and more table food until she doesn't need baby food any more. The key is to keep trying to get her to eat table food every day.

I gave my son baby food until he was around 18 months or so for multiple reasons. One being that that was how long it took for him to get his teeth in. Two, because his father and I don't always eat healthy and I want him to have the best start I could give him. My son is 2 now and I still buy the Little Gerber dinners for toddlers because they are a lot more healthy for him than chicken nuggets or hamburgers, plus they are actually really tasty. Don't worry too much about what is "normal" with children, every child is different and you just do what you know to be the best for them.

it depends on the kid. I weaned my daughter off baby food at about 10 months old but I am from the south and some kids here never eat baby food. Just make sure they are getting all of the food groups in balanced proportions and he should be fine. Try the Gerber Graduates they are made just for those little fingers.

By the time both my girls were 13 mos they wouldn't eat babyfood. I think as long as they like it and you're still introducing more regular food, they should be fine.

i have 5 healthy children, i never used baby food, except some cereal in there bottle at bedtime, at one i threw away bottle, and table food it was, they are all great eaters, with the occasional phase of not eating, they love all veggies, baby food is expensive and not worth it, i never felt it had any real purpose
