I dont get spots anywhere else - just my shoulders!

They can be quite large, red, inflamed and painful. And as i said, i only get them on my shoulders. I do not pick them, i just rub sudocreme into them, although it doesnt seem to help very much.

Why do i get these spots on my shoulders? And what can be done about them?

Thanks!

I eat a very healthy diet, do not eat crisps etc and only eat tiny quantities of chocolate very rarely.

You might be allergic to whatever you are wearing, as the shoulders have closer contact with fabric due to the way we move them. If it isn't the fabric itself, it could be your laundry powder or fabric conditioner.
If you feel you have enough time and energy to work on the problem by process of elimination, you could start by changing your detergents (including body soap or soap) and buying yourself a T-shirt in a different fabric to what you normally wear.
to see if that makes any difference.
If you like cotton, go for organically produced fabric, as a lot of cotton these days is soaked with chemicals which can really irritate sensitive skin.
Stop using the cream, especially as it isn't helping.
Good luck!

Sounds like furuncles (boils) or curbuncles which result from folliculitis. Furuncles r caused by irritation, pressure, friction, or infection with Staphylococcus aureus. Tx consists of antibiotics and an incision into the furuncle to allow it to drain. Carbuncles caused by persistent Staph infection and often follow furuncles. Carbuncle Tx consists of systemic antibiotics with localized heat applications and drainage. Wash clothes, towels, bed sheets, and clothing should not be shared to prevent spreading the bacteria.
