The DVD player has been used maybe 20 times. It just keeps saying unable to read disc. It is a kenwood.

Look at the users manual , it may have info on a reset , in which case that may solve your problem , It could be the media your using but I doubt it . If you have only used it 20 times then it might still be under warranty so contact pioneer and see what they say , they are good for standing behind there products . In the future make sure your DVD player has proper ventilation , those lazers get hot and that can ruin your player , speaking of which it could be your lazer in which case we go back to the contact the maker scenario /

OH and by the way Jessica , I have reported you to Yahoo for spamming and other violations
These people leaving things like free IPODs , free weight loss pills , free password changing or recover , they are no better than the people who send Trojans and virus's over the net .. If any of you run into this kind of thing please report them as abusers and lets keep this place for what its intended

Have you tried a different DVD? It may be the disc.

It's broken. Get it repaired under warranty.

I had the same problem and was told that the laser was out of alignment. I had a Sony and they replaced it because it was too expensive to repair (under warranty)
