Yes indeed it does. Cause it increases your language skills. It also improves your words of power. In all reading stimulates your brain functions. Improves your critical thinking skills. Reading in any language, helps improve your ability with words.

yes.....coz, through reading, u will get diffrent peoples diffrent views for life or any situation...or may be some special dialouges which will certainly touch ur main and which is a simple sentence may be but very much distinct...using those views and sentences u will be also smarter......and, u will learn how to view the life or by studying the charecters life or situation u will learn a lots of things........when i was kid, i never read books thinking these things....but, at the age of 19, when I almost finished more than 1000 books....i got this realization.

Reading does not make you smarter. It just gives you a headache. You know what REALLY makes you smart?? Watching a marathon of "I love New York" on VH1.
