Yes have, but the truth in my case was that the bible is a loosely linked pile of stories written well after "Jesus" was around (New Testament), and polished by Francis Bacon and King James into a political treatise to keep common folks in line!

Jesus said in John 8:31-32, “If YOU remain in my word, YOU are really my disciples, and YOU will know the truth, and the truth will set YOU free.”
The scripture is only complete when you study it in its context. If you remain in Gods word, that is to meditate on it daily with a sincere desire to grow closer to the Lord, then you will Know the Truth and only then will the Truth set you free.Truth must be illuminated in your mind and heart before it will effect the way you think.

Truth is important on an emotional level and a spiritual level. Emotionally knowing the truth can help us to change the things that we can and accept the things that we can not change. Jesus told us that 'the truth can set us free'. This means spiritual truth. That truth is that God Loves us. That Love is the center of everything and that we are to Love God with our whole heart, mind and strength and love others as we are also to love ourselves. Nothing can separate us from the Love of God. Nothing. The only separation that there can be is of our own choosing and even that can be reversed.
God is not a God of hatred and judgment. God is LOVE.

First of all, it can't be taken out of context from its source, the Bible.
John 8:31b-32 "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
Partial statement doesn't make any sense, in my opinion. The 'truth' is Jesus, as the answer to the sins of man. He is '...the way and the truth and the life.'

Silly QUESTION!
The ONLY TRUTH is the Word of GOD, and in Rejection of Any Part, ONE Rejects the Whole!
(Luke 8:11-12) Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
(Luk 8:12) Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
Thanks, RR

Yes, Grace is the truth. Its the " good news." The problem not to many Christians are taught the truth, they are still in bondage with the legalistic, judgmental teaching of the hypocritical leaders of most of the religions of today. I guess they want their body of Christ to believe he died in vain so you have to strive to be perfect never fully understanding the wonders Jesus has provided for all. I am saved and I am far from perfect,,,,, The Truth is Grace.

It means live in the now.
One mans truth IS anothers fairy tale.
It's a matter of perspective.
I even think that Jesus said He was the truth and He meant that believe in him and you will be free from debt of sin.
It's like this; believe that Jesus was God's son and he writes out a check to God so that your debt is paid in full and you get to go to heaven.
It can also mean be honest, don't lie.
All these things.
Peace and Blessing!!

The truth will set you free....
Jesus is the truth of course, first and foremost.
So by accepting him, we are freed from sin, and death.
but I believe it can go much deeper than that.
We, as Christians each have the truth in us, as we have taken Christ as our Savior. But it up to us to study and have spirit filled Revelation through the Holy Spirit.
If we are to fight the father of lies, the only way to combat is with the truth the we have truly understood.
To be free of the bondage of sin, and to up stand the fiery darts of the enemy, it has to come from truth knowledge.
In ourselves, we cannot win. The man in Acts that tried to battle the demons and was beaten and thrown out naked tried to fight in his our flesh and power. We can't do anything without the knowledge of who we are in Christ. Without our sword(the word) fully tuned we get beat up, fighting the same battles over and over.
hope this helps, blessings in Christ ~vicki

It means that Jesus Christ, who is the embodiment of the truth, will set us free from our sins. Yes, it is a complete statement. He frees us from the hold that sin has over us as well as frees us from the judgment for our sins.
