The children of Sodom were destroyed along with their evil parents ,grandparents,aunts, uncles,cousins,siblings,etc.,.. because God wanted to remove all traces of their wickedness,i.e.Sodom as a people. The total destruction of Sodom was to be a lesson to all nations,forevermore of God's unnacceptance of disobedience. The Sodomites had been previously warned,as always,to change their ways.
Another,of many,examples of God's wrath toward evil doers
was Noah and the arc.

Children belong to God anyway. They were definitely in better place with God than with their parents. God gives life and takes it away. People were very evil in Sodom.
