There is a pink single story house and everything in it is pink. The doors are pink, the windows are pink and the TV is pink. What color are the stairs? I really like this one even if you have heard it

The stairs leading up to the house(if there are any) would be pink. But there would be no stairs inside the house (as in, leading to the basement/second story) because it is a single story home.

The desired answer is that there are no stairs, being it is one storey. Now as defined, a storey in regards to housing, is a set of rooms on the same level or horizontal plane. Some have stated there would be no basement stairs, but in older houses with stone foundations, there could very well be stairs to access that non-livable( space which is not defined as a habitable room nor realistically able to be converted to such, such as a low ceiling, frequent flooding, etc). And though attic access is more frequently done in one storey homes via an access in the ceiling or a pull down ladder, it is still possible to have access to that non-habitable space via a set of stairs. So though an IQ test expects the answer there are no stairs and this is most likely correct as far as probability goes, it is in fact an observational bias as a resulting a leading question. So in truth, the technical, logical, and proper answer would be there is not enough data to tell.

there is no stairs. the house is single story, so theres no top floor to lead upto.
