How does one Justify the fact that Ellen White lifted most of the "Great Controversy" from another writer, then claimed it was a vision from God?

I don't know what you mean by secret. I'm guessing you're talking about the time when God will physically take all Christians up into the air and into heaven during the End Times. It will happen "in the twinkling of an eye" I think is the phrase. My husband does not believe this actual event will happen (he thinks we won't literally be physically taken up). I don't know, myself. I'm sure something will happen at the commencement of the end times to protect us. I heard one guy on TV talking about the rapture. He believed we are physically taken up saying that everyone who believed the description may be a metaphore is wrong. However the same guy argued that the moon could not be turned to blood. His logic, "that just can't happen". My response, "but we can all be physically sucked up into the air?" Anyone else notice this inconsistency? God can do it if he wants to. He can do anything. However, I don't, and know knows, what he will do. There are just differing opinions and theories (all probably backed by scripture depending on the interpretation) on it that will not be figured out regarding accuracy until it does, or doesn't, happen the way people say it will.

Out of the 3 position [ pre, mid, and post ]. According to Randall Price any of the three are possible somewhat equally weighted. But I do lean towards the premillinial position because of Christ mentioning the thief in the night approach which also uses the Fathers House and 7 day with the bridegroom illustration or the 7 year period during the reign of the antichrist. I am still keeping all options open at the same time. I have yet to read Michael Rood's approach. He is POST and I hope he doesn't make me toast.
WOW I am really shocked at the other answers !!!
Any reference to the history of the belief seems out of place if we look at scripture alone and nothing else.

No. There will be a Rapture, but there will be nothing secret about it! Since you said not to Google my research, I can only tell you that the Bible does say in regard to that moment, "...in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye." It will occur too fast for the eye to perceive, but when all the Christians, little children and graves of Christians are gone and empty, there will be NO DENYING something happened!

There is nothing secret about the Rapture of the Church.
Many people will disappear from the Earth, so many that it will be obvious that it has occurred.
The Rapture and Jesus' Second Coming are two separate events.
For the Rapture, Believers will go to meet Jesus in the air.
Jesus does not set foot upon the Earth at that time.
For His Second Coming, Jesus comes to the Earth and reigns upon for a thousnad years.

Define "Secret"
If you mean is there to be a rapture that some don't know about I would have to say. Yes.
If you mean is there one that no one knows about, I would have to answer...What?
To think our God is going to pull one over on us is not understanding the bible. He will not do that. He has said so.
Now to those who do not have a clue who the Christian GOD is then those are the folks that will be left behind saying what just happened. where'd everybody go...They will say there was a secret rapture.

No, there is no secret rapture. That is an idea made up by John Nelson Darby, based on the ravings of a sick woman named Margret MacDonnald, in the 1830's.

There is no rapture of any sort, in the christian sense. The very doctrine of rapture was basically unknown until the 1800's, the early christians knew nothing of it.

The regulation of charm would not require perception, it really works no matter if you've self belief in it or no longer. that is constantly on, that is constantly operating. each thing on your existence to date is the sum complete of each thing you've in contact in your self. per chance you do not comprehend the regulation of charm. the secret's a superior popcorn review of the LoA, besides the indisputable fact that that isn't any longer the be-all, end-all authority on it. examine 'imagine and advance wealthy' by technique of Napoleon Hill (that is obtainable as a free e book from countless places on the web). that is the first commercially achievable e book on the regulation of charm, and that is the e book that all those who 'is conscious' about the regulation of charm says replaced their lives; Esther Hicks, Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, etc. little ones stay in poverty around the international, no longer only in Africa. that isn't any longer a count number number of them 'wishing' for a mansion and having it seem magically. it truly isn't any longer how the LoA works; that isn't any longer wishing. The LoA is calling for what you opt for, understanding that you will get it, and finally receiving it. it is also about your modern position. What i opt for is significantly different than what a newborn residing in poverty needs. at the same time as i could have a perfect purpose of adjusting the international by an idea that is coming to fruition (that is extra particular than that, besides the indisputable fact that the patents are nonetheless pending), the youngster residing in poverty could have a perfect purpose of no longer going to mattress hungry tonight. that child has little interest in a mansion, purely in foodstuff. no longer each person has an same purpose or needs an same ingredient you do. when I earnings my purpose, i will set yet another purpose. once the youngster residing in poverty achieves their purpose, they are going to set yet another purpose. it truly is how the regulation of charm works.
