He got an email from match.com with a user name in the subject area. He told me it was spam. Well I went to match.com and signed up a bogus acct. and sure enough, I got the same email...with MY username which means he went there and signed up or they're sending him spam. I have trusted him all these years and all the sudden i'm feeling a little worried, does anyone know anything about match.com and do they send spam like that?

No he isn't...Actually I ran across this because I'm annoyed I have spam advertising from match.com on the right side of my email. It's always there. I did use match before, but that was over 3 years ago. I still can't figure out why the ads are so aggressive. I was very happy with their service, and I met the right girl, but this advertising crap has to stop! To help though, I have no intention of anything bad. I am marrying the woman of my dreams, yet why is this stupid advertising still there? Don't assume he's evil until you can prove it. Ok? Cheers.

I used to have a profile with Match.com.
Months back... I think there was a reshuffling of their website and I had to re register. Which I didn't do so.

Thus I got spam emails of potential guys on a regular basis. When I click on the said interested male, I was asked to re register as usual.

Thus, I no longer use that particualr email account now.

I've never gone to match.com or signed up for anything, and I get constant inbox reminders saying I have all these matches. It's quite annoying. The same goes for my boyfriend.

He must have signed up. If there is a username in the subject area then it must be his. I don't get spam mail from anywhere that I haven't given my details to, either them or a related site. Sorry to tell you but he is definatley lying.

I never signed up for match.com and seem to get one or two spam emails from them each week. I have not noticed if there is a user name or not

I am presently getting their spam emails. I am a guy and I keep getting "matches" for other guys! I have never even visited match.com. Your bf is telling you the truth

Oh man! He got caught and he's running for cover. You don't get spammed with profiles unless you're signed up.

If I were you, I'd play it cool for awhile and then create a bogus profile with a hot pic and send him a message that you're interested. 100% he'll reply if he's not totally into you.

Ive never been spammed by them..

If he cancelled his subscription but didnt hide his account then he can still get mail though.

He may have been a member before he met you..but to get email from them he would have to sign up..at one time or another!

Did he have an account before he met you? Sometimes places like that keep sending you email if you just forget about your account even after you don't check it.

I have started to get those without ever visiting that site. I have received welcome new member message and user details username and password. I wanted to unsubscribe from it and clicked on the link in message, it led me to their site and asked to login but didnt let me in with credentials given in welcome email. I have contacted match.com support on this issue, they answered they never had any account with my email in it but somehow smtp of the sender of those messages was match.com and their ip address, means that they have holls in security. Technical support is useless.
