The song needs to be in a compatible format like WAV or MP3. If you purchased the song from itunes, it is protected and you cannot do it.
Burn the song to a CD, then rip it (import) back into itunes using the MP3 (I think ppt supports) or WAV format. You must first set this up in preferences. You can then freely import into powerpoint.

Drag the song out of iTunes and on to your desktop.
Open a Powerpoint file and drag the song in.
(at least it works that way on Mac)

You might have to get the file of the song off your computer and add it on the powerpoint someway....just a suggestion
