I like her and i wrote her a letter but she never got it and I honestly have no idea what is going on in her head. So how can I figure out what is going on in her head?

Men and women are simple. People just put a bunch of confusion in the way. You don't read people by what they say. It's all in the way they act. How many times have you heard people throw around the same words and mean completely different things just by saying it differently.
Read her body language. Look how she reacts to your body. Stand close to her but not too close and see how she reacts. If she steps away then in her head she is thinking "He stands too close." From that you can conclude that she either has bubble problems or she doesn't like you enough to allow you to stand close. You never said a word and you found out something.
Another thing you can do to get in her head is look at her eyes. If they wide alert she is paying attention when you are talking. Just like men, women get board in conversations with people they don't like. If she is not paying attention she doesn't think you are worth listening too or she has other people on her mind... like that other guy that just walked by.
You have to watch her eyes, and pay attention to what she is looking at.
You will never be able to figure out what she is thinking directly but you can determine how she thinks about things. You read people through body language. So grab a book on body language and find out anything you think could help out. One of the coolest books I think I've ever read.

The only way to figure out whats going on in her head is if you find out from her.See girls are different and some like courageous guyz.If she never got the letter in the 1st place(How did you know),you dont expect her to come running to you.Who knows maybe she likes you too.Go TELL her what you feel and that way,you will figure out whats going on in her head as you put it.

ha, I'd like to know the opposite... how do you figure what is going on in a guy you like's head?
to get back to your question, communication and observance are the two keys. Find opportunities to spend time with her or catch her somewhere or call her, and have more conversations with her. Get her to talk more. You will have a better idea. Also, you need to observe carefully at her reactions.

Seriously now! I believe that this age old question would just dissappear if Men and women, boys and girls, would finally wake up and realize that we are ALL just human. There is no real difference, we all have the same emotions, fears, hopes, everyone just has their own way of showing them. Listen to her, and assume that there are no hidden agendas. A nice candid, one on one conversation is always a good way to probe a girl's head. Females usually love to talk about themselves if they think the guy genuinely interested in what they're saying.

Thats impossible man but i have to tell you if you want to know what is in her head ask her and by the way you should talk to her personal and letter are very romantic but if she didnt get it just tell her what you feel ok.GOOD LUCK.

You arnt going to know if you dont ask her go up to her or call her on the phone! If she acts like shes turned off then you know that you tried if not you can be happy that you got a girlfriend hahah! Its all about comunication with girls if you dont talk to them they wont think that you like them (even if you did tell them) Good luck!!

You can ask her. Granted, she won't tell you EVERYTHING going on in her head. But at least by asking and showing that you're interested in her thoughts and you care about her, she might reveal more to you. Good luck!
