Best way to study this is to try for an apprenticeship with one of the big aircraft manufacturers. You can attend college on day release. My grandson was lucky enough to get one of these apprenticeships and has never looked back since.

Hands on experience, training and education whilst earning can't be bad.

Ask you careers adviser for information.

As far as I know Oxbridge do not take your GCSE's into account. However, it is likely that they would prefer grades A*-C in core subjects such as Maths, Science and English.

As for A-levels, they often require three A's or the equivalent number of UCAS points. If you are a good candidate, you will have to attend an interview and sit an entry exam.

Try speaking to your school's careers officer. If you wish to go into aeronautical engineering, Oxbridge may not necessarily offer the best course. They are good at academic subjects, but other universities may have better facilities for more modern subjects. You may benefit from an apprenticeship with GE aeronautics or a similar engineering company.

Good luck.

its important to get As and a* in GCSE as that determines what you will be judged on to gain an iinterview and then based on your interview they will give you an offer
