What is the best CAD system?

I am looking for any kind of a CAD software that produces a BOM (Bill of Materials). The BOM will be the main focus point in purchasing this new CAD software.

AutoCad will do that. I am not sure how, you may need to check with a software person.
My last job, had that exact set up when, you run the BOM and it converts it and you can read it in Word Perfect (that's what they chose).

I used autocad here if the items are a block..

I have a lisp routine that import the items into a CSV file which you can import into excel and lacing a dollar value to that block
