Do you feel they are ungraciously bringing up the past, or do you think they are setting a good/bad light on those who are not LDS but who chose to practice Polygamy?

I'm LDS and while it recieved a little talk amongst my friends when it first came on, now it's not even mentioned. Everyone I know who even knows the show exists has already made up their minds, which is - "I don't like that this show is bringing up something we don't do anymore. I think they should never have addressed/readdressed the topic. I've written an email to the show telling them I don't like that they've chosen to do this. I don't watch it, and that's about all I can do about it."

Well the show is not about the past, its about a modern day Polygamist which has nothing to do with the LDS church. I'm LDS and have not seen the show, so not sure if it trys to tie Polygamy to the church or what; either way, people already have their opinions(as you can see by other responses) so I can't see this show changing the way people think. People who know me, know how cool I am, Mormon and all!!

I don't know what LDS thinks but I love that show. One of my favorite themes in media is the challenging of stereotypes. I know a lot of people turned off by this show based only on the premise. It's an excellent production with great character depth and an intriguing story line. I don't believe it tries to set any kind of example. It is what it is, more complicated than a stereotype.

I have never seen the snow and have no desire to see it. No one likes the past brought up, especially if it is negative. Polygamy is a thing out of the past for the L.D.S and I don't understand why everyone judges the members on what happened before most of them were born. Polygamy is in the past. I don't see why it shouldn't be left there.

I've watched it a couple of times, and it seemed pretty boring. The characters are not LDS though, so I'm not sure why LDS would care...

I like how it clearly shows in the show that they are FDLS and the husband always refers to his first wife and mentions that she misses the LDS church. Also Gordon B Hinckley is not their prophet who is the LDS prophet

truthfully HBO did interpret the sealing ceremony(no longer fullyyt properly), yet there became no "tremendous conflict"between the Church and massive Love because it takes 2 activities to strive against and the Church did not.

Great Question, I've always wondered that.

I used to live in SLC and LOVE the show, because it is so accurate.

Mormonism.....yet another christian religion that refuses to look at and admit it's horrible past and the fallacy of their prophets.
