I don't know why.
I was raised by open minded (religiously) Christian parents. I practiced Christianity for years without truly believing in the virgin birth story. During a lack of sanity I attended an Assembly of God church for awhile. Those fanatics left me running from and deny God. He would not let me go.
Ever since I was a child I have believed in reincarnation. I did some research on other beliefs and asked some questions of other people. I know it is illogical to believe in God but I do think that He exists.

Bob, I believe there is a God and he is the only God. I am a Christian because it best defines who I am and what I believe in. I have never known a life without an omnipresent and loving God in it. My parents did not force me to believe or go to church, that was my choice...but to some extent yes, it was how I was raised; however, there came a time when I made that choice for myself and was born again in Christ.
I have had many, many religious experiences...enough for a book and maybe someday I will write one. My most magnificent ones were and are from nature.
Just looking at a flower to be is a religious experience and proof of God's existence.
On the other hand I grew up as well and went to school (my parents did insist I do that) and I learned sciences as well as other educational experiences. None of them effected my belief in God and some, such as biology, made it stronger.

Because i have almost died 3 times, Twice by Drowning. Once i had to have CPR done to get my heart and lungs working again... After that i believed without a doubt in my mind that there is a God. I was in a state of peace and had what some would call a near death experience... I can see how for some it is to hard to grasp i myself struggle with religion all the time but in my heart i believe. for the record i do not go to church i have went to churches for a number of years and i have learned about other religions as well. i rarely read my bible.. I just do my best every day at living.

Well, because it IS by faith(which is beleiving w/out seeing) I was an alcoholic 11yrs. ago, & one morning(sun.) I was getting ready for the day & Had a strong feeling to go to church- I knew it was a bible church- but, actually asked a person, "what religion is this church,in hallway?" It was non-denominational,I was brought up catholic, so was new to me, But, I swear-God took the desire for drinking COMPLETELY away! Can't really describe, you have to experience the feeling of when God come's into your life!! & The Bible IS a guide to living this life! Look around you- Can you REALLY explain where the tree's & hill's,& everything IN the world CAME from?? scientist's TRY, but, can NEVER fully EXPLAIN & verify most of their phylosophy's!! They tried saying the parting of the Red Sea was a tornado! come on, Just , maybe, open yourself TO God & you'll get YOUR answer!SOOO sad to have read some of the answer's before me, ONE day, you WILL beleive! HE did say-there's a narrow & a wide road-YOU choose-I will pray God touch's you in some way.

(short version) He put himself on film for me, after experts looked at it, after I looked at it and studied the color of violet, I realized I was dealing with a higher form of energy at the least.
Then was given the gift of sight and healing first hand. Saw 7 angels as balls of bronze light and felt what is next, words cannot describe.
Then was given the sight of a pure miracle for he saved my grandmother and I while driving. Lost control of the vehicle and were sent into the air in front of a semi. Like a child picking up a matchbox car that came off the track, He put us back on the road, untouched.
Sent an Indian spirit to me who called me by name ( I was in a new town and didn't know a soul, so no way could anyone know me let alone personal info) and then told me other information. Later after research I realized I was lead to information for a reason.

The information about how we got here was destroyed by Christians in the library of Alexandria Egypt for obvious reasons and the darkens began in Europe and the known world then..the abbreviation GOD does not signify the Jewish connection of religion but the ancient Greek of GREATNESS OF DIAS..

I honestly cannot give an answer Bob. Its not because the Bible says too...that is silly, but I have just always felt there was God there and felt he loved me and watched over me. Sorry I cannot say more.

I believe in God because I know he is there. What happened when you were in a situation and you needed to get out of it? God helped you. God helps us all in little ways we dont know of. And I am going to say it the Bible is living proof that Jesus came and that there is a God. Then again it is in your own faith to believe. I am not here to force you but I believe in God because he is there to help me, I am his child, you are his child you all are his children and God will protect you.
