I lost the weight from not eating. I have been having such a problem with the weight thing, that I mentally siked myself out where I barely ate anything, just liquids. And, yeah, I know I should not be doing that, but its easier said then done. Just think about this...I used to 105lbs and after 7 months (pregnant), I was 154lbs. Having my son, i went down to 140lbs and it just stayed. Trust me, I like the new weight, but its the tummy, arms and thighs that I am having the problem with. I just wanted to tone up, but with all the mentally siking myself out, I just lost the weight.....but drastically. Now, I have to retrain myself to eat, but I want to eat healthier.....

Decrease the amount of cardio that you are doing. If you are doing really intense cardio then you will not be able to gain weight.

I don't know how you lost the weight, possibly just by exercise? If that is so than cutting your cardio workout in half and adding some weight bearing exercise, done slowly, to build muscle should do it. On the other hand if you lost weight because of going on a low or no carb diet then add whole grain foods and more vegetables to your diet a little at a time. Be very careful of no carb eating. When your body has no carbs it will seek energy first on the fat then when that is gone on your muscles. Your heart is a muscle too and your body does not really sense that you need that more than any other ogan when seeking energy. Stay away from white food, like refined white flour products or sugar and you should be fine. Best of luck, stay well.

What did you do to loose it ( sickness or diet/exercise) ? If the former, than your body will eventually go back. If the latter, than you just need to cut down on the amount of cardio you do (still do it, though) & start doing more toneing exercises, like lifting weights, or, pilates. Also, if it was from diet/exercise, please share how you did it ! *lol*

Additional info after poster's additional info:

If you had an eating disorder, probably the best thing is to start off slowly. Start by adding protein shakes in between meals. (that way you will be adding additional calories just by drinking them). It's great that you have realized that what you did was not healthy & being there for your child (not being sick) is the most important thing. I applaud you for taking control of your situation. After you have added the shakes, start by just increasing calories. You should stay away from high fat or fast food, though, b/c even though you may gain weight, it won't be healthy & you will end up with other problems, like high cholesterol. Good luck ! :)

How have you lost the weight? How are you exercising?

When you lose weight, you have a caloric deficit. That means you are burning more calories than you are taking in. As far as eating goes, you should maybe try to introduce more carbs like bread, potatoes, rice, and pasta; not in exorbitant amounts, but maybe an additional two servings a day.

Also, focus on strength training at the gym in balance with cardio. muscle weighs more than fat, so you can stay lean but be stronger with weight training.

When you lost the weight you were burning calories and eating right, understandably. To gain back the weight keep eating right, just try to eat a larger portion, and when you get to the gym, have someone show you how to "bulk up" or add wieght instead of burning calories. They have special machines for that.
