The ignorance of the people who want to actually see this rapture that they believe in astounds me. Have they ever actually read Revelation? Isn't it supposed to be like the worst thing imaginable?
Before the Christians get their feathers ruffled, let me remind them that, among the other things in Revelation that make no sense, the Christians will either be taken up first, or will have to endure some of it.
EDIT: Okay, I skimmed it again. "I will also keep you from the ordeal that is to fall upon the whole world to test its inhabitants" is addressed specifically to the church at Philadelpia. 3:14, look it up.
After the seven seals but before the seven trumpets, the four angels are commanded not to do any harm until the seals have been set on God's servants. I guess if you are one of the 144,000 from Israel's 12 tribes, you are okay here. (7:3)
During the fifth trumpet, the locusts are told not to harm those who have God's seal (the 144,000?) but they have to endure the first four trumpets, when it rains hail, blood, and fire, and the sea turns to blood, etc.
That's all I found in terms of the Christians being taken up. Anyone else find something specific?

Yes and no. The experience would be amazing, but things in the world will be getting worse between now and the coming of Christ . In other words, the world will be even more messed up then it is now, to what degree? I don't know because I don't know when He's making his return, but life for a Christian person won't be easy so dieing of old age before I see it come won't break my heart either. Of course there's this point of greed where I want to have children, and see them grow up etc. and if He comes before then I won't have that, but His coming is happening whether we're ready or not.

No. If there is such a thing as the rapture (and yes I know the Bible says there will be a taking up of the faithful), it won't matter to me if it doesn't happen within my lifetime. However, I will be very disappointed if I do not get to see the second coming of Christ from an earthly perspective. That is going to be awesome.

Rapture is not biblical ... its a man's teaching.
The bible explains however that during the last days, there is survival possible during the last days....and a resurection for those that have passed away during or before the last days.
What is God's original plan? Live in heaven? Live on earth?
If Adam and Eve had not disobeyed...where would they be today?

No... the there is not a verse in the bible which says that the rapture can't happen in the next minute. But we are always to look for his glories appearing and be ready to meet him. I am 29 and I might live to be 100 ... and if I die I see him in heaven anyway.

Of course i'd be dissapointed. We'd still be living among christians. We atheists are really looking forward to the rapture. I hope it's soon.

No I will not be disappointed. Whether I'm caught up in the rapture, or be one of the "Dead in Christ to rise first" it doesnt matter. Long as I'm in that number when the saints go marching in :)
