What town ?
Overhead ( space rent for ex ) varies radically .
Could be $500 in a rural area or $5000 for the same space in the city .

You need to make MORE than your overhead >
Rent , product costs , taxes , licenses and fees etc . . .

well it depends on the job. a resturant needs money for the store food workers and bills. so you just have to make more than you spend, then you will have a nice little business going for you.

If you earn 10 dollars and spend nine of them, things will be okay! But if you earn 10 dollars and spend 11 then pretty soon things start to go wrong!
