I have a very formal wedding coming up and as the maid of honer i havn't been able to choose my own dress. As a result the dress that i have to wear doesnot cover the tattoos that i have on my upper arms. As much as i like my artwork i don't feel that it is appropriate to have them on show. I need a temp solution that is reasonably easy to apply and not permanant. If anyone has any suggestions then they will be greatfully recieved. Thanks

Dermablend!! I have the same problem, I have large tattoos on my feet and need to cover them for weddings and posh do's. Dermablend is cover make up to cover skin problems, birth marks, and apparantly transvestites us it to cover their stubble! Anyhow, you can get it at any good department store - I got mine from Macys and got the dermablend consultant to show me how to apply it. you can also buy it off the internet. good luck!!!

This happened to one of my best mates a year or so ago. The girl who's wedding it was had a lady come over on the day of the wedding to do her make up, she had with her some (probably super expensive) make up for covering scars / tattoos etc. It lasted through out the wedding and the evening party.

I have no idea what the stuff was called I'm afraid but I'm sure if you friend is having somebody to do her make up you could ask her to find out if the same person can cover your arms.

There are a few things out there that you can buy for yourself if the above is a no go.

Try:

Theres is about £15.00

Haven't used it myself so cant recommend unfortunately.

Good luck whatever you go with

I too have a tatoo on my shoulder.

Since i think my tattoo looks way off theme for my best friend's wedding... I thought of a solution.
I asked the makeup artist to use crystals and body paint to cover my tatoo.

She did an awesome job using crystals and glittering body paint. Makes me look so angelic.
The accompanying sisters for the wedding also dorn similar body art.

It was the talk of the night though I was not the main cast. We certainly received many raves and praises for such beautiful creations.
Obviously the bride doesn't mind at all!

Ask the bride. I was in a wedding over the summer, and the bride chose the dresses knowing tattoos would show, and she was okay with it.

That said, if you're still not comfortable, find someplace nearby that does dance/ice skating costuming. You should be able to find a skin tone body suit of some kind that closely matches your skin.

Just use coverup - concealer, liquid and then powder. Also there is stuff you can buy at the drug store thats a spray to cover up viens and they work as well. It isnt appropriate for a wedding so its nice youre taking this initiative.

If you look in the Argos catalogue there is a section on beauty, hair and nails etc. I think on the nails section there is this make-up set made by Rio and it's specially made to cover birthmarks, moles and tattoos. It's around £20 but probabaly worth it.

you should try a line called lycogel, its for post chemical peel patients and plastic surgery patients. its awesome and covers fantastically. We carry it our skin care center here and cant keep it on the shelf. It actually incorporates oxygen into the skin so it has a natural healer in it. Plus its great for covering tattoos.

Well, i would say that a tempaoray cover up would be for you to put a huge amount of make up like pounds but it still going to show depending on your colour. Try a beauty clinic!
