I am a Christian and I have NEVER heard of such. I realize that Gen. 2:6 says that God had not sent rain upon the Earth, yet that was during creation, that doesn't mean that was the case all the way up until the flood.

I mean don't you believe that God created the Earth that produces a global weather system? Or did the Earth change in some way just before/after the flood?

Global Weather System as a part of or resulting from the Bang. It does not have to say it rained in the Bible for it to have rained (or for storms, volcanos and earthquakes to have taken place).

The world was changed at the time of the flood. The bible and science both tell us that we use to be covered in a ice/water shield. We still see results of this in space and the bible tells us that G_D created it. (above and below the firmament)

When you look into what this would do, it would create a high pressure oxygen chamber on earth (explains why dino's got so big and why people like Noah lived so long). It would alter the weather and rain as well for the sun would be filtered just like sunlight is filtered in water. (why are eyes and that of say wales are backwards)

I cannot say for sure if it never rained prior to the flood, but I can believe the weather was very different, earth was different and due to that ice shield, I could see it not raining. Plus we didn't have the oceans we see today either, but only small bodies of water. The ice shield melting/raining is where that all came from.

I know it can get confusing at times....this is where in way I am glad he had me walk as an agnostic for so long, so I could learn the science side of it all to understand His side better.

Well, Gen 2:5,6 indicate that at least during the period of creation, He had not yet caused rain. However, the Earth did change significantly after the Flood, as it would drastically if such a deluge were to occur today. The massive amount of water that stood in place outside the atmosphere probably regulated a consistent global temperature and shielded humankind from UV rays. After it dropped to the Earth, plate tectonics no doubt shifted, and the hydrological cycle was accelerated. This had major effects on the makeup of the Earth's surface as well as the weather patterns.

You can see that there was a canopy of water that enveloped the earth prior to the Flood, and the earth was watered by a mist that came from the springs of the earth. It was not unlike an irrigated greenhouse.

When God judged the world, the canopy around the earth ruptured, and the springs of the deep burst, causing rain for the first time ever.

It took Noah over 100 years to build the boat and during that time it not once rained... Noah was mocked and laughed at. Yet he believed that it going to flood cause the Lord told him. Then the day came it rained and well 8 souls walked into that boat and were saved and while the rest of the earth perished.

I am a Catholic and have never heard anyone claim it never rained before the flood.

It's just that the rain which caused the flood was a major deluge that God will not send again.

But before the flood, water was still part of our ecosytem and plants and man needed rain to thrive.

I love rain!

God bless you.

The Bible says the earth was watered by a mist that came UP from the earth, and not a rain that fell from the clouds.

The first instance in the Biblical record when rain is specifically mentioned as falling is in the account of the Flood.
Genesis 7:11 tells us:
"all the springs of the vast watery deep were broken open and the floodgates of the heavens were opened."
BROKEN OPEN .....not proof positive, but a lead toward a certain line of thought.

Genesis 2:5-6 sums it up nicely! IT DID NOT RAIN BEFORE THE FLOOD!

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. 12 And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.

How's that for climate change?
