I have just been asked to stand up in a wedding on 7 /7/07. I had no idea this was coming, I have packed on so much weight in the last two years. I need to lose 35 pounds to get back to my normal weight range. She's making me wear a shot dress with spaghetti straps and it's going to be on the beach!! Imagine my horror! I would like to hear from someone who has lost a large amount of weight quickly and how they did it. I need all the details.

firstly u need to remember, u need to put out more then u are taking in...
Count how many calories you eat in a normal day.
At the end of that day, add up the number of calories you ate/drank. Be as exact as possible. Once you add it all up, you now have the total number of calories you consume daily. Also, weigh yourself.
Starting the day after you counted calories, eat 500 calories LESS then you normally do. So, lets pretend that the day you counted calories you counted 2000. For the rest of the week, you would eat 1500 calories a day. All you have to do is subtract 500 from the total number of calories you consume in a normal day, and eat this new number of calories every day for the next 7 days
Instead of eating 3 big meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner), or eating all day all the time, spread those calories out over 5 smaller meals. Eat one meal every 2 and a half to 3 hours. Doing this will speed up your metabolism.
Cardio. Cardio is an important part of weight loss. If you're serious about losing weight, but don't want to do the cardio workouts, then you are requiring your diet to do all of the work. Jog, walk, swim, jump rope, ride a bike, take an aerobics class, whatever... cardio + proper diet = better than just doing one of the two. All it takes is 30 minutes a day, 5-6 days a week. .
Now dont expect to see massive results in a week or 2, as this wont happen. About 1 to 2 kilos a wk at most.
but i would think that in about 4 months u could lose about 6- 15 kilos.
it all depends how well u diet and how much u exercise.
a friend of mine lost 10 kilos in 4 months, just by walking, jogging everyday, going to the gym 3 times a wk, watching her calories and eating healthy.
now for some ppl its hard to cut out ur chocolate and other treats, soooo just remember treat urself once a week.
also drink plenty of water, in between meals sumtimes u think u are hungry, when actually your body is thirsty, drink more water. Dont replace meals with water, just make sure you drink plenty of it..
dont go for this quick diets, such as the cabbage soup diet, as it doesnt work, you mite lose 5 kilos doing it, but as soon as u stop u will put 4kilos bak on.
Eat healthy, stay away from high carb foods, plenty of salads and vegies and u will be fine.
hope this helps, good luck and remember you only get out what u put in!!!

Eat healthier, start exercising more...I've never had to lose that much, but I am trying to lose about 5-10 lbs. I joined a step aerobics class. It's fun and you feel so good after a workout. If you take that class seriously, and eat right, you should lose 4-5 lbs a month. That will at least get you close. Now, of course you could always do more to lose more weight a month than that, but that is just talking about 3 times a week, doing a half hour to 40 minute workout at a time. :) easy!

If most of your weight is around the mid section of your body, cut out most of the sugar in your diet, that is what is causing the fat to hang out around there. Focus more on whole grains (make sure the package says WHOLE GRAIN or else it may just be wheat or something lame) to get rid of that weight in that section.

Try checking out www.mypyramid.gov for further help with eating right. you can even set up a profile to help you...

You can do it, good luck!

It isn't likely that you will lose that much weight by July. If you want to lose that weight and remain healthy then you need to take care of your body- aerobic exercise, strength exercises, eat lean meat, low fat dairy, whole grain bread and pastas, fruits and vegetables, and drink plenty of water. If you consider how long it took you to put on the 35 pounds then you shouldn't expect it to melt off in three months. Fad diets that promise a pound a day are extremely dangerous and can result in dehydration (most of the weight is water) and malnutrition ( do you want to look as if you are going to keel over from starvation on the wedding day?).

The atkins diet (a low carbohydrate diet) is very dangerous for your health. Your body needs carbohydrates as its main source of energy. Depriving it of this will force it to seek protein and fats as its alternate source. When the body breaks these down into sugar, hydrogen ions build up in your body and can result in fatal ketoacidosis. Don't succomb to this fad diet.

Excercise is the key, but you have to find something fun to do. I used to be overweight, big time. Friends told me to buy a mountain bike. I resisted for a year, and then bought one. I found it to be so much fun, I rode all the time, and lost 40 pounds the first year, and then another 15 when I started racing. Good luck to you. Be active, and it will all be good! By the way, I bought the mountain bike 18 years ago, have bought several since then, and am still slender. I never believed I could look this way before. Mountain Biking is an absolute blast. Best to you!

ONly 3 months to lose all that weight is really not realistic. Losing 15 pounds is more realistic by then, so i suggest to keep it real and set that as your goal instead.

For myself, I have found that the atkins diet produces the quickest weight loss compared to weight watchers. I would suggest that to you and i am sure you will lose 15 pounds by the date you want. Just stick to it and it will work.

I would recommend you join Weight Watchers. Since you have plenty of time to lose the weight you don't want to do a fad diet that you will quit after a week. Exercise and WW will help you lose the weight for sure. Good Luck!!

pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be

like my boy said exercise and consuming sugars. 35 is hard to lose in that amount of time. but u have to willing to work real hard. not just walking 2 miles a day. You will have to change your entire lifesytle. anything that causes u to move to do it you have to do it. if u want some water dont ask some one to get it for you, you get up and get. all the small things add up. u will have to get real active and change ur diet. (no flour, sugar, sodas, cakes, candy, canned food; has sodium, which helps retain water. )

You are going to need help. I suggest Weight Watchers. Their program works. Although, since you only have about 3 months, 20-25 pounds is more realistic, if you want to keep it off.

Exercise, but not like crazy. Eat right. Lots of fresh fruit and vegies. Don't be too hard on yourself. Talk to a personal trainer, I'm sure they could help you loose the weight in a safe way.
