Select a new cell

type into the new one the " =sum(

then click on A1

then type *

then click on A2

close brackets and hit return.

The equation should read:

=sum(A1*A2)

Good Luck

Select the cell you want the answer to be displayed in and in the input line put

=A1*A2

where A1 and A2 are the cells you want to multiply together.

type out the following in the cell where you want your answer to appear:

"=(a1)(a2)" and replace "a1" and "a2" with whatever cells your two products are in. You can also do the old fashioned "=(a1*a2)" if you want.

The notation is pretty much the same as how you would do it on paper.

to multiply, type (without quotes) "=A1*B1" where A1 and B1 are the cells you want to multiply. Your question asks for totals, though, which is addition.
