Ok, this is my problem. Today I could sit and cry, but yesterday i ran around like a chicken with my head cut off. My life is great right now, and i shouldnt be worried about anything, but last night my kids spilled some juice in the floor and i just blew up at them. I was in a good mood and everything till that. I dont sleep good, I can't concentrate sometimes, and other times thoughts and ideas just flow through my head and I can't stop them. I know that mental disorders are hereditary, and my mother lives in a mental instution because she has several different things wrong with her. does anyone else have anything like this? What did you do?

There are quite a few things that your symptoms could be stemming from. It is unbelievable how many people feel almost like you sometimes do. You are not alone. :-) Honestly, this is not an excuse, but just being a woman can make you go haywire every now and again. It seemed to me that after I had my two children I was much more prone to frustration and the "up and down" feelings. I truly think that your hormones are a little different after you've had children. And on top of that, kids are a blessing, but they can be a total handful leaving you exhausted, frustrated and sometimes sad too. But, you are correct that some mental disorders can be passed on through families. And if you truly think that you are experiencing feelings that are inappropriate or that you cannot physically control, visit a doctor and they will help you find someone who can diagnose and/or treat you. But, please be happy that you have children and that you have a place to live for your kids to spill things. Lol. Try to look at the big picture and keep things in perspective. Sometimes if you step back and see the blessings that you do have you won't dwell on the frustrating tidbits. Good luck! :-)

I do get unwanted thoughts like losing loved ones. I think of Harry Potter and I go deep into it and can't stop thinking about it. You try to think about something very absorbing. To avoid stress which leads to these actions and thoughts, manage your work and do it sincerely and honestly on time. This will surely keep you far away from stress. You'll also get good sleep if you work hard. You'll get peaceful sleep. Hard work doesn't mean rough day or arguments. Just sincere work. Like in your workplace. You'll feel better. You can even try Yoga/meditation/Pranayama. You can find more about these. Plenty of books available. You won't get enough on the net, though.
Anyway, I hope it works out. It will definitely work out and you don't have to consult a doctor. You may about Yoga.
Good Luck! Remember, if you want your kids to be allright in future, then work hard at getting rid of your problem. There's nothing Pranayama can't heal.

you should talk to a Doctor. When i was 12 i went into motts childrens hospital( the phsyc unit). i cant sleep really well, i cant concentrate, and im always sad. i was classified as bi-polar, because i always used to cut and attempt suicide. now i know i have severe depression, and borderline personality disorder. your best bet is to go to the doctors. or take a depression test online. they almost put me in a mental institution. because since i was 12 ( i am now 15) i have been in and out of the phsyc ward over 20 times.. i am now on many pills. but please get checked out!! for the sake of yourself and your kidS!!

Sounds like you are explaining my everyday life before i was diagnosed with bi-polar. And I think you may have it as well. No worries though. It can be controlled. They have meds these days with hardly any side effects. And they really work if you take them as prescribed. For your sake i think u should talk to your doctor. You will feel better if you do. Good luck!

you are just worried coz u don't want to become like your mother, it's true that mental disorders are hereditary but if your mother is sick that does not mean that you will be sick too, you have to look at the whole family history in mental disorders to say that you have a hereditary mental disorder in your family...anyway the final word should be to the physician

yes, a bit but it also depend very much on your personality, try to control your temper and how you treat yourself, you know it's only a minor stuff for your kids to spill juice, hold your temper because holding it meaning curing yourself that momment. when you have negative thought, also hold it think of the same way, you don't let yourself get sick. if you want to cry, stop, find something else to do, call a friend, surf internet just don't let yourself to get sick.

Sounds like you might be bipolar. You should see a psychiatrist - they have great medicines now with few side effects that can help you.

Also, it is important for you to face this for your kids. If they grow up and have problems, they need to know it's ok for them to seek treatment. Good luck! :)

Yes. My mom suffers from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and she suffers from depression. I also suffer with it also. The best thing to do is to take it one day at a time. try to do something relaxing. Take a vacation away from the kids, that helps my mom a lot.

don't listen to the people who say you're bi-polar. Anyone who tries to diagnose an illness based on a paragraph someone wrote on Yahoo! Answers is a retard. My advice to you is to speak to a psychologist.
