My MS Outlook is misspelling the word "the". When I type in "the" in an email it does an auto correct changing "the" to "teh".

Has this happened to anyone else? Can I go into the auto correct settings somehow to fix this? It is starting to get very annoying.

I agree with the previous answers, but what might also be happening is there was an accidental modification to your custom dictionary and "the" was replaced with "teh" you need to correct this.

Use the following procedure to add words to the dictionary Custom.dic, which is shared by all Microsoft Office programs.

From the main Microsoft Outlook window, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling tab.
Click Edit.
Type the words in the list. Press ENTER after each word.
On the File menu in Notepad, click Save.

While in a Word document

click Tools
cl Autocorrect
in the "replace" box, type teh

in the "with" box type the

click o.k.

My opinion: I don't think the custom dictionary is the cause. If "teh" were listed as a word, "the" is a legitimate word therefore I don't think spellcheck would stop it.

If I am wrong, I hope someone will send me a message and correct me. Thank you.

Side note: Someone could be playing a practical joke on you, also. This happened to me in a class where someone made a not-so-nice autocorrect. It happens.

Open MS Word, go to "tools" on the menu and then select the "autocorrect options" and have a look at the autocorrect tab. You can use this to so a lot of automatic inputs and corrections for words you misspell a lot. Hope this helps, good luck.
