It's very common to drop a lot of weight in the first 1-2 weeks of getting in shape. After that, 1-2 lbs a week is a healthy amount to lose. It's also very common to drop one week, then nothing the next week, then a lot one week. Your body varies; but as you get into a routine you are likely to start dropping weight mroe consistently.
Also, you may be adding muscle weight if you are doing lots of weighs. Nothing wrong with that.

Pay more attention to your inches rather the pounds. Your body fat is another important factor...just because you didn't loose anything the next 2 weeks doesn't mean your body isn't adjusting to your new regime. Have a family member measure your problem areas and then weekly or bi-weekly measure yourself again and I promise you that will really show how successful you are with working out.
You probably look good even though the scale didn't change in 2 weeks.
Stay positive!

your body might have adjusted to the calorie intake and activity level. When you are trying to lose weight, two things are of most importance, first, do not accomodate to a workout routine for more than 6 weeks. You need to modify it from time to time.
Secondly, if you are for example, eating 1700 cal a day, try and change your calorie ingestion each day, for example:
Monday 1,300
Tuesday 1,700
Wednesday 1,500
Thursday 1,400
Friday 1,600
this will trick your body so your metabolism doesn't slow down, and it will be harder to hit plateaus.

The inital amount you lost most likely was mostly water weight. You did nothing wrong. Keep up what you are doing & you should see some more weight loss in the next few weeks. (but, since you lift weights, you may be gaining muscle weight, &, muscles weight more than fat, so, although the scale may not move, you can tell by how your clothes fit on you)

Seven pounds in two weeks is a weight loss that may be too rapid for your body to handle. It all just depends on how much weight your body needs to lose.
Diet and exercise are really the only way to do it! An easy formula to remember for safe, gradual weight loss is:
3500 calories = 1 pound of body weight
If you cut 500 calories from your diet per day, over seven days that is 3500 calories. This way you can lose one pound per week, which is a safe, moderate way to trim down.
Good luck!!

That's a lot of weight in a short period of time. Give your body the chance to catch up with you. If you overdo it your body will crash. You may have plateau'd already because the body finds it hard to lose that much weight that fast.

you've probably hit a plateau ( uh i don't know how to spell this ) and to break it off you need to either increase the intensity of your workout or the duration.Or maybe modify your diet. But anyway vary your workout i.e change it ever 2-3 weeks just so you don't hit plateaus and keep losing weight consistently.
