God made rainbows as a sign that he would not flood the world again. OK. What was different about the laws of physics before the flood that made it so rainbows did not work?

That there was no rain before the flood is bizarre, but I can see how a bible believer could draw that conclusion. Definitely not an answer I was expecting.

1st Rainbows could have already been in existence yet the miracle wasn't in the occurrence but in the timing. And when that particular rainbow came, perhaps it was evident and revealed that God had set that rainbow and all future rainbows as a promise not to flood the Earth again.
Or Perhaps,
Before the Flood the Sun produced pure orange light. And then after the flood it provided white light with the full spectrum. LoL.

Please understand that the rainbow is a visual object from reflection of light through the vapor. The flood will come again if the earth warmer and warmer again. Even if the earth wants to change it face, the flood still come again. The sign of bible tell is the story when god told people at that moment.
The traditional things happened is the rules of the natural. The promised of god I doubt to know.

The Rainbow was God's sign that he would never flood the earth again. I mean read the book of Genesis in the bible; it would clear up alot of your questions about the flood and rainbow.

Rainbows are a result of a rainstorm.
It did not rain pre-flood.
