And you listened or you didn't listen only to find out that it was God.

Or has God never talked to you at all.

This question is for sane people, no cult members please...

God talks to us every day, I believe it is whether we choose to listen to him or pass it by.

Sit and watch sit and listen. Take time out of your busy day just to sit, look for the signs. He is there, he give us signs all the time, he talks to us through others. He might not make it so obvious but he does.

I think it is hard for most people to stop what they are doing in their busy life to just listen to the word.

Don't get me wrong I am by far a church go-er, but I do stand by my god. He has helped me when I have thought there was no help at all, he has also let me down. But there are lessons to learn in life, and you have to listen to plan.

God put a restraining order against me for stalking him. Apparently he didn't appreciate me seeking him for 20 years.

In reality, I tried for most of my life to hear from God. I REALLY wanted to get a sense of who he was and what his true will for my life was. I didn't hear anything, and spent many years depressed that he didn't care for me.

It would infuriate me when other Christians would tell me that I wasn't listening. I would spend hours in prayer and reading the bible, in the hopes of hearing something. Then a well meaning Christian would come along and say 'you just aren't listening, or trying hard enough'. That was BS and just put me deeper in depression. Not a very Christian thing to do or say.

In the end, I realized that if I wanted to fabricate the voice of God or pretend I knew his will for my life, I could do that and maybe go along like everyone else pretending to be in the fold, but it still wasn't real.

It became clear that God was not real, but a philosophy that people create to give meaning to life and to justify their behavior. Once I was able to accept that, my life became allot better. I spent time actually helping people who needed it and didn't concern myself with the tenants of faith. Life has become a great thing, and I have become a better person as a result.

Ok good question, I belive just like with any relationship getting to know some-one take genuine interest. We can seek out God with all our hearts and soul and then we will find Him. I know it's in scripture but I don't have the evidence right now. I've actually heard we must be careful because the devil wants to get in between us and our Heavenly Father at all points. I heard a trustworthy pastor say that he thought the devil likes to trick us by making us think the voice(or what sounds to us like our thoughts are actually satan trying to sway us. I heard this on television. The pastor said he knew his guardian angels distinctly and that voice did not sound like his own voice at all!! Once I distinctly asked God what I should do about one of two chihuahuas that were my son's pets. When one male yr. old dog was running to an area on our 5-acre property insteadof staying close by. Clear as a bell and with authority a voice(not my own) said to me "do not go after him -go to the house . I thought back, Oh that's ok God I have time to go get him. I went and picked up the dog took him back inside house. It had to be just a couple days or so later and my son was around ten yrs old- his friend spend the night and it was getting late- the same dog wanted to go outside so I took him out and put him in a nice fence pen and let him stay out there and you-know go pee. Then I asked my son to bring his dog in. My son was preoccupied with his company so I went out and opened the door to the pen and the dog ran off by the barn and it happened so fast he wouldn't stop even though I yelled for him to stop. I asked the boys to come out and we walked around our property and couldn't find him. I walked up and down the side of the road nearby. ANYWAY -my husband came home after working night shift and found the dog had been gutted by a coyote. His whole body looked good except where he got eaten. God knows I had been going through alot of stress working double shifts and taking care of a family then with two dogs- it was overwhelming at times and this particular dog wanted to hike his leg on the furniture to pee. I believe if I would have listened to that voice that day perhaps I could have trained the dog differently and there would be another outcome. I have heard that it's not good to chase after dogs it's best to stay near them , have them on a leash and get them really good with voice commands and bring them in immediately after they go to the bathroom so they know to take care of their business quickly. I had done alot of type of training with both dogs. The other female chihuahua we have is alive and well. I certainally watch the late thing because I believe the male dog got lured for a female coyote. I just think we are cheating ourselves when we don't try to understand what's going on in all of us and there is no denying that something IS ALWAYS going on!

I have never heard a voice in my head telling me to do something. I do believe that my creator does communicate with me, but not through words, but with actions or perhaps events.

God communicates with me all the time. When I listen, things go well, when I don't things go down hill.

I speak to God five times each day. That is when I pray. He has answered all of my prayers. Alhamdulilah
