Have they become too common? I have a small butterfly on my back that I wanted to get covered by a tattoo of a fairy, sitting on a cresent moon, with a pretty flowy dress and wings and holding a book (Because I like fairies and I like to read). Opinions please????

I have seen some absolutely beautiful fairy tattoos and some that looked cheap and generic. I think your idea sounds like it would be gorgeously unique(probably just like you, right?;).) Present your idea to the artist and have him/her draw it up for you and make adjustments and such-talk about coloring/shading-and when you have the finalized idea, get it done! I would LOVE to see the finished product.

I think a butterfly is WAY more common than a fairy. Remember, though, this tattoo is permanent so one of these days, fairy tattoos may go out of style or become incredibly popular. That's the chance you have to take.

I love that, its really cute.
Fairies have become common but there is so many ways you can make it your own and very unique.
I would not get a fairy off of the wall because those are probably on everyone.

In my opinion, fairy tattoos are over done.
But I would still say do it if it's a picture that you fancy on yourself permanently.
However... from your description above, the fairy picture sound really common and cliche.
I would suggest you do more research and source for a unique fairy picture or get the tattoo artist to customize one specially for you.

get what you want. It's your body. Yeah so what if fairies are common tattoos, if it's what you like-get it. Just don't walk in with a printed out picture of one- make it original and have it drawn by the artist, yourself or a friend

Fairy tattoos are becoming more common. But it's also very easy to make them your own and make them original. You already have an idea of how you want it, and you already have a way to make it your own. Have an artist draw one up for you and go from there.

I think get whatever makes you happy, I just got a four leaf clover knowing it was very common but I did it because I liked it and it held meaning to me so I got it anyway. Don't worry about if it's common or not, just worry about if you love it! Plus you put your own little spin with her holding a book, nice idea.

I don't think there too common,I'm the only guy that I know of with one. :) But like the others said,it is so easy to make them "one of a kind".Me and the wife just took in a design that I liked and gave it to the artist and he worked his own ideas into it and it looked great.

well fairy tattoos is nice i think they look the best with color and in neon i have one myself in neon colors and when u go to the club it looks good in the black ligh.!!!t

I would say go for it.if that's what you want get it who cares if everyone has it. if that's what you like and that's what you want then get forget everyone else and get.the tattoo sounds cool too
