Probably not -- of its many nebulous, attributed roles, melatonin is thought primarily to function in maintaining normal sleep and diurnal rhythms, allowing hormonal levels to be stable, thereby facilitating reproductive capacity, and not cause reproductive dysfunction.

If this potential effect bothers you, discuss it with your pediatrician -- they want to help you as much as possible, and that includes alleviating any concerns you may have about side-effects of treatment.

From the wikipedia article it seems like it wouldn't. It is reported to restore fertility in menopausal women though so obviously can affect hormones.

Honestly though, this is pretty serious, so I'd talk to a pharmacist or two, and maybe some other doctors.

Also it is a not considered a drug but a dietary supplement because it doesn't have any side affects I suppose.
