This just started yesterday. His eyes are not red or watery. I ask him if his eyes hurt and he says no. He just keeps blinking really hard. It seems kind of like a tic. When I ask him why, he just says, "I don't know, Mommy."

This is likely just a behavioural phase that the child will grow out of...BUT...it is still a good idea to take the child for an eye exam to rule out a more serious reason. I see this quite often and most times it is usually nothing. But again I wouldn't rule this out as nothing without a professional consultation because think of how you will feel if you don't go and your child does have a serious eye problem. Go to an optometrist or ophthalmologist just to be safe.

Could be a tic. My daughter's eyes blinked a lot for about 6 months, for some reason they've stopped.

I would take him to see his doctor. It could be a symptom of something medical, he may have scratched the cornea and it is irritated but he doesn't feel it (my son did this one!), he may have an eye infection. I did a quick search but I won't go there, I'd just go to the doctor's office and let them take a look at his eyes.
Anytime something just doesn't seem right with my kids, in they go. My cousin always told me to find a Ped. that listened to the mother because she really does know her child better than anyone else.

You need to get this checked out if this is new. He may have an infection without having red watery eyes.

Take him to an eye doctor as quickly as possible. This may be a developing problem, and the eye doctor is the best one to help with this sort of problem.

It can be a medical problem take him to the Dr. to see if it is. If not he can be doing it for attention. My daughter at two said that she couldn't breathe after a camping trip and I took her to the ER and they did every test under the sun and the Dr. thought that she may have been doing it for attention. It happened a couple of times after and I didn't make a big deal out of it and she finally stopped doing it.

He may have just figured out how to blink his eyes. But I would call the doctor just in case. I doubt it is anything.

It may just be something new too him. As long as he isn't experiencing any discomfort or complaining about seeing lights ( like the aura before a migraine or seizure) he is probably just playing. but follow your instincts if you are worried and contact the pediatrician to be sure.
