acid zeb, I am very tolerant of people BUT if you refer to me one more time as a jerk, you won't have a Y/A account.

And a special thanx to the English teachers. (than). That certainly proves something.

But I must say that most of your answers proved my point, really.

Look at any anti-Christian answer to most Christian questions.

Christians have been called and this is a short list from memory:

Uneducated
Stupid
Morons
Retarded
Idiots
Warped
Jerk
High school drop out

And it is amazing to me that they are so childish in their ways. Yet claim that it is us that are.

Little people, with big heads and that is not name calling it is a simple observation.

Dharmana, surely that has to be a funny assumption to make, but then you are probably full of assumptions, aren't you?

Well son, you must feel quite intelligent now that both Christians and non-Christians have pretty much thrown the pie back in your face. Oh there were a few, some of the most nasty and annoying of the troll atheists...that agreed with you. My dad always had a saying...claim to be intelligent and you will find out just how intelligent you are within 20 minutes...I think you did. - juice

I could never be that arrogant. Nor could I be so small-minded as to assume that religion has a direct and exclusive relation to intelligence.

And above all, nor could I possibly be so egotistical to remove and re-ask the same question just because someone posted an answer high up the page that I disagreed with. Unlike some people. If you actually believed your assertion then you would never have done that.

Methinks the Christians need to ask a question or two around here today:

"Atheists, do you realize that if you only had two more functional brain cells, you'd be as smart as an amoeba?"

Or perhaps:

"Atheists, did you know that there's a bill in Congress that would require the widening of all doors so that you and your ego could fit through at the same time?"

i'm no longer a mainstream Christian. i'm extra of a leftist than mainstream. I help progressive Christianity. At any fee, I do discover Fundamentalism a humiliation, no longer just to myself, yet to all of Christendom. There are human beings from virtually each denomination who virtually look attempting to outdo Fundamentalists of their insistence upon intolerance and petty habit, so that is not any longer purely the Fundamentalists who're responsible. In my own opinion, any team that promotes hatred, bigotry and intolerance in the call of Christ needs to discover something else to call itself different than Christian.

Never happened

1Co 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
Pr 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
Pr 29:11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.

This is an old question that has been around Yahoo Answers as long as its been open. Its not just here, its everywhere...conservatives asking it of liberals, blacks verses whites, whites verses anyone else, homosexuals verses bigots...you name it, everyone thinks whatever group THEY choose to represent is the smartest. Its almost a joke at this point. Obviously no one here is the "smartest person alive today"...or they would have something better to do with their time...or find something.

Steve - While I certainly do not think I am the smartest Christian who ever lived; I realized in my twenties that I was quite intelligent as many Christians.

hmmm, I'm quite the opposite, actually. I feel I'm about average on the smart scale. There are some amazingly brilliant, smart people in this world and what I love about them is that they are humble enough not to think of themselves as anything special.

I can't say that. Even 200 years ago science really had not figured out all that much. And some could be smart, just very gullible.

But I know I am way less gullible than any alive right now. I mean an invisible guy is watching you....HAHAHAHHA

When someone endeavors to set their self up as a judge, they are shipwrecked by the laughter of God.

Anyone who says they are wise surly is a fool.
