At what stage does this change? I've been seeing a guy since mid january and we've been getting on great but it's at the awkward stage where you don't know what's going on. He has said he doesn't want me to see anyone else and isn't interested in anyone else himself but doesn't want to rush into anything either and to be honest, neither to do but I don't understand what the difference is between saying you're seeing someone and saying you have a boyfriend?

This is how I see it...
If I'm "seeing" a guy, I don't feel bad "seeing" other people at the same time. To me, "seeing" someone means that you're still open to other options. I'm kind of old fashioned, and so until the guy actually tells me "I want to be exclusive with you" or something along those lines, he's not my boyfriend. After we've established that we're not seeing anyone else though, and we don't WANT to see anyone else, that's when i consider it a relationship. Hope that helps!

The difference of seeing someone and relationship will depend on the couple themselves. Seeing someone is loosely described as dating with no exclusivity on both sides while relationship implies the "only me and you" feeling. I have a hunch that the man you're seeing with is still testing the waters. If he feels that he's ready and you're compatible with each other, then that's the time he will formalize the relationship so hold on to your heart first and don't expect yet that you have found Prince Charming. Go out and have date with him. Just try to find something in common that will make your relationship worthy.

I am in the same situation. LOL!! I think technically you both can still see other people, I think.
The stage changes when both of you have really gotten to know each other well. Do you want to see other people? or do you feel you are at the point to see what is going to happen.
To answer your question, seeing someone is techinically just dating, where as being in a relationship is something on a more exclusive.
My suggestion is talk about it and see where you both are thinking.
Goodluck!

When you are just dating (or having sex with ) someone without any commitment you are just seeing that person.

Being in a relationship means that there is some form of commitment between the two persons involved.

Sounds to me that this guy wants to have you all to himself without any commitment.
