How do I "deal" with or "help" my boyfriend who has helped me and dealt with me and my anxiety disorder for the past 8 months that we've been falling in love? I've had him keep up on his meds and make Dr. appt. to get more help but what do I do in our relationship to help? He gets paranoid sometimes and goes over the line. How do I talk to him about it? How do I get through to him?

You are very kind, to care and be there for him...I don't know if sometimes people can really understand, just what you are doing for him...You should tell him that you would love to go to the doctor and learn what you need to do to help him make his life better, and to understand how to help him, because you care...he might go for it...God Bless, and I will pray for you..

His meds may need to be changed. Go to his doctor with him if you can. He may not tell his doctor everything. My brother has the same disorder and when he takes his meds he doesn't usually get paranoid anymore. But I am sure everyone is different. Be patient and just love him. It is great that you help him keep taking his meds because without them he will not be well. I think you are a great person for staying with him. Take care

I have a son with the same disorder, and when he gets that way the best thing I can do for him is to get him to his Doctor for a medication adjustment or change, possiblely get him in Hospital until the med change takes effect.

Look for support groups, stay active in his treatment and be supportive... The internet is a great source of information that would be helpful in all areas listed above.

Leave him! Staying with him only prooves a major lack of self-esteem and/or stupidity. That's what my councellor told me before I left my boyfriend. Take my advice. U know, if u don't let someone die, he will defenetly won't let u live!

This disease runs in families and you have just started to have bad problems with him off his medicine. Find a more stable friend who can help you instead of vainly trying to help a hopeless case.
