I recently had a conversation with a person on the probability of Time Travel. He said something odd to me, “God will not allow time travel to happen.” It seemed to me that he was only cornered in the debate and said that, but I’m intrigued. What is the various religious viewpoints on the issue of Time Travel? Not whether Time Travel is possible, the religious viewpoint on the Ethics and the religious significance.

I don't know of any religion that directly or even indirectly addresses the concept of time travel.
As a religious person, myself, I don't see where any God would have a problem with it, as there are no divine prohibitions against it.
On a personal level, I think time is just one more barrier that we will eventually break.

I don't about the Religius systems that exist and how they would view such things..But just as a Christian I would say that anything is possible thru God. If He needed to use such a thing for His Purpose he could do so. What's impossible with man is possible with God (see Mark 10:27)
Now, I personally do not think, at all, that He would. He has a purpose to have an intimate, caring, loving relationship with man. WIthout going in to too much detail. His desire is to be joined with man in a infinite way. There is a lot more with the Lord than "getting saved and going to heaven." The Lord needs the element of time to be thoroughly connected spiritually with man.

"As we get older and our mental capabilities improve we move from a simple understanding that if a ball is in front of us and we do not observe the ball as it is taken away that the perception that the ball no longer exists is not real but rather we perceive that it still exists even though we do not see it any longer...our perception of time and space is relative to the position from which we are observing and holds the time as constant as the knowledge of the existence of the ball no matter from what position we observe it from...if you have not grasped the concept of object permanence, observing the time would be easier to understand if you were in space observing others on earth in different time zones...now, consider that if you were capable of traveling past the speed of light (close to 300,000,000 m/s) and not rearranging your atoms across the whole of the universe in the process, you would be able to theoretically enter into the forth dimension and move through time both forward and backward and then live in the future or live in the past." Its interesting to give some thought to those who have faith in the possibility of God are more likely to believe the unproven can be done than those who insist of perfection of fact.

Time travel is slightly possible but you have to rethink what you think of time travel. Like drinking a lot and passing out and the next thing you know you're in a Waffle House parking lot and it's 5 am and your right arm hurts for no reason. That's time travel

Dude ! I am a Christian and I believe in time travel. I can sit in front of my computer and mess around looking at questions here and such and the next thing I know, it's 3:00 in the morning. Amazing isn't it?

I don't think there is anything written of ethical value from religions with regards to time travel, since it is not possible yet (I don't know if it will ever be). Studies of ethic are usually concerned with what is possible now.

I disagree. If God lives outside time, and He lives in us, then we should have the ability to travel through time as well. I think I'll try it right now.

according to religion, god has a timeless mind, it is possible for him, but in the material you have no real supernatural powers.
its funny because scientist have discovered that atoms can disappear and reappear, like a leap to another dimension.

hmmm!?1?1?
