Peacocks are bred in the uk by people who are interested in fancy poultry, they are gallinaceous birds which puts them in the same group as pheasants.
They're difficult to breed, and difficult to breed true to colour; like guinea fowl they develop white patches when kept in captivity, and you can eventually end up with albino birds.
They make terrible pets and neighbours as they ar ereally noisy. My neighbour used to live a 1/4 mile up the road and I could hear them.
I'm not sure how much they cost now so you'll have to search the Internet, try The Smallholder as they do classified ads.

My mum had 6 peacocks that lived in their road for around 4 years. All the neighbours fought for them to be removed (they escaped from somewhere and just pitched up.)

My advice is don't get them! They made such a dreadful noise all through the night and day. They scratch all the tops of the the cars and knocked slates off the roofs. They also didn't seem to be afraid of cars and just sat in the road !
Be warned!

I don't know about england but you can certainly buy them from commercial poultry producers in the US and they run about $25-$35 each although you usually must purchase a minimum number of 8-10 fowl.
The males make a horrid yowling sound every night although some people enjoy it. Your neighbors should probably have a say as these birds can be heard for miles and they might hate you if you just got them without asking first.

They are lovely especially the males. The pea hen is not so flamboyant. The only draw back with them is that in the early hours 4 am or so they start calling and make quite a racket.OK if you can put up with it. As regards where, I don't know. There must be specialist breeders and suppliers and will probably advertise on the net .Either that or the magazines that cover tropical and exotic birds.

You can buy them as day old chicks from commercial poultry producers. They can be fairly expensive, depending on the type you want. Your best bet would be your mums neighbor. She probably has chicks she would sell you or give you if you've been a good neighbor.

Yes you can, they used to be very popular with large houses and estates, they were used as guard dogs, their hearing is increadable, an their soo noisy, they leave a lot of mess though.
It depends where you are an who you know as to what they cost, know a guy down the road who breads them, noisey buggers.
