Desperado: Why don't you answer the question instead of repsonding with childish insults?

Alowishus: Then he SHOULD be pulling strings if it means these things don't happen. If he lets them happen, he's evil or does not exist. Case closed. I vote for "does not exist".

Rocky Road: I see you agree with me then that God would be evil if he existed. Thanks!

Yes, he could eliminate whatever element it is in the makeup of pedophiles that attracts them to young children, or have babies smell like hot tar and rat puke until their genitals magically appear at adulthood.

I have no problem with those deists who say that God created humans but then swore to not meddle in their affairs. A kind of hands-off Prime Directive. But a god who chooses to intervene sometimes but apparently doesn't consider it important to prevent horrific crimes--that just doesn't make sense to me and doesn't sound like a moral god at work.

Of course, the logical explanation for all these things is that God does not intervene because he doesn't exist and the only justice that exists in this universe is human justice. It's not perfect, but it's all we have. So, install a burglar alarm and support your local law enforcement.

He is indeed omnipotent, and could prevent all evil as practiced on the planet earth.

He is also sovereign and has chosen to allow man the power of choice. Though he can and does interfer with our plans at his will(again sovereign),he has rather given us the words of life to live by. If for instance we heard and practiced the teachings and commandments of Jesus concerning the subject of Lust.(babies would no longer be raped). I am not oblivious to or uneffected when I see and hear of the terrible things that we of the human race are capable of. I also think that we focus on the most horrible events such as presented in your illustration and often times do not see the root of all problems...disobedience and sin.

Lust
Envy
Pride
Predjudice
Fear
Jealousy
Hate

This is a very very short list of the top of my head...what if we could just hear God on these few.today...how different would the world be in the morning.

Unless the heart of man changes, nothing else will

Many Christians argue that evil exists because of humanity's free will. God deems free will a greater good than the prevention of suffering.

Does this mean that stepping in, calling for help, or in any way intervening to stop a rape or mugging is a sin? Afterall, these actions attempt to lessen suffering at the expense of free will.

Continuing this further, is it sinful to incarcerate criminals and thereby restrict their free will? How about locking doors or safekeeping valuables? These actions interfere with the free will of those who would wish to steal from us.

If God finds the free will to be so important that even He won't interfere with it, then surely it must be sinful for us to do so.

He could prevent it who's to say he doesn't warn the attacker, but god gives us choices it's are choice, and he is not evil, because things that happen like that are nothing but the devil, God turns everything out for the good of those who love him, and pick up the pieces making a beautiful, something that was ugly,he gives beauty for ashes. and he is omnipotent. I have heard a story from my Tia about A puertoriqueno who was about to kill his whole family but a preacher came to his door, and said don't God doesn't want you to do this the man is crying, and he ready to end his life and the preacher tells him how much god loves him, and he created him with purpose.

I think a little redirecting of sexual energy toward appropriate subjects wouldn't really be against free will. God could plant the suggestion that sex with adults is more enjoyable.

I mean, he did that whole Jesus thing to make people believe a certain way. Why not maybe string a child molester up by his balls in a similar show of martyrdom? I think people would get the idea on their own.

What does free will have to do with atrocities against children? MAN exercises his will every day to do right and wrong by living up to the standards set forth in God's Word. He's omnipotent, but WE have to use His influence to STOP ourselves from committing such crimes against children. If God stepped in and openly prevented it, then there's no free will and we'd have a bigger chaotic mess on our hands than ever before!

This is a cop-out that I find very popular with non-believers and even believers. <<< Something like this will cause one to stumble b/c our inability to understand. God said, "My people perish for lack of knowledge". Truth= God is omnipotent and omnipresent- now and forever. Sin and evil have become such a part of our lives that we disregard life or descency. 'We' meaning mankind! We can't certainly blame God for our choices. He put us here to take care of the land and multiply. He put us here to govern. So.... if we allow people who steal, kill, destroy, rape, etc. to do as they do.... then is that God's fault? Certainly not. Don't be confused though b/c He will come one day to judge us according to the work of our hands and until then... what are you going to do about children being killed by their own parents? What are you going to do about rapists and baby killers? what are you going to do about what is obviously your responsiblity????????????????????

Yes and yes. If you are a baby rapist and for some reason you are prevented from actually raping a child, you are still guilty of the sin as you have done it in your heart, however the child was spared.

Humans having free will means they are free to do even the most horrible and unspeakable of actions.

But God will judge those people, as He will judge everyone

I don't understand these free will questions. Look, you are not a puppet and G-d is not some white-bearded umptegenarian sitting at a switchboard. "Uh-oh, here comes a baby rape - I'd better nip that in the bud."
