According to "The Biggest Loser" TV show (of which Dr. Phil is a big supporter of with his weight loss challenges), a low-calorie diet is recommended. Men should consume no more than 1500 calories per day and no less than 1300 per day. Stick with healthy food so you won't starve. Have meat at least twice a day with grains and plenty of fruits and vegetables (especially as snacks). For example you could have a broiled or grilled hamburger but, only if the beef is 95% fat free and the burger bun is wheat. No fast foods. Meat and wheat are high in calories but they are necessary to keep you from starving. Eat spaghetti for supper if the noodles are whole grain. I like the Barilla brand for whole grain pasta. Eat low mein. Peas are the highest in fiber and lowest in calories. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Eat sandwiches, have that egg and cheese biscuit if you want.

As far as exercise, "The Biggest Loser" recommends walking for 30 minutes a day.

Don't forget to break your diet on weekends. This will keep your body's metabolism from getting messed up.

Eat little and often . I mean eat every 3 hours.
Drink more water. At least 8 glasses of water a day.
Drink green tea.3-5 cups a day.
Exercise , exercise and exercise.

All these things won't burn calories by itself , but they will boost your metabolism and keep it elevated throughout the day and you will end up burning more calories.

Decrease your caloric intake to 1600 calories, drink a gallon of water per day (16 hours is usually considered a day) and walk about 5 miles a day. Calories will burn fast this way.

I am your height and about your size so hopefully this will be useful.

You will need to figure out your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). Basically this figure shows you how many calories you body requires on a daily basis if you are completely sedentary. Find a good calculator here: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

There are also several calculators which allow you to see how many calories you should be consuming to maintain your weight or lose weight, find one here:http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

My last few tips are the most important. Weight train, drink lots of water, and don't skimp on breakfast.

Weight training is the best way. The more muscle you build, the more calories you burn. Its that simple.

One phrase: DANCE!! It's a laugh, it burns energy quick, and it really works your complete frame! If you have got any form of dance sport, use that, or simply positioned in your favourite songs and transfer round. It works... believe me I jogged for part an hour and danced for three hours at present and I think GREAT!

go to www.thedailyplate.com and you can create a profile that answers all of your questions. You can even count calories and determine how many calories that exercise burns etc.
