this actually is a syndrome, it is a compulsive disorder, or it could be asperger syndrome, or it could be a number of different things when added up with other of his quirks .

There is a disorder called Trichotilomainia. It is when a person continually pulls out their own hair, usually in the front or in patches. If you suspect this, he should probably see a Dr. Or are you talking about plucking stray hairs with tweezers? Maybe he's a perfectionist who wants to make sure every hair is in place.
