dont let previous experiences affect new ones. go for it with the guy. if you dont he will meet someone new and you will always look back and wonder what if. if it doesnt work out it doesnt work out. better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.

I think dating an older man would have it's advantages, you know, more experience, a more stable job (in most cases). However, your case seems fine. He has a stable life, he's likeable, I'd say a five year difference at this point is pretty trivial, so go for it! If you were 21 and dating a 16 year old, I'd say otherwise, but at a certain point, the age difference doesn't matter.

I think as long as you like the guy there shouldn't be a problem, now if he was 21 or 19 now, I would say run. But a 31 year old sometimes know what they want, go with your heart, when you stick to rules..you end up lonely, go for it

Age has nothing to do with it. And if you want to settle down with a family, you only have a few years left to do it, you have to take chances to find the right one. Focusing so much on a number will never get you anywhere, you need to focus on what was good about the men of your past and what was bad about them. And then look for a man that has the qualities you want. Despite his age.

a very tricky biscuit, you will know what is right for you in the end. contrary to popular belief i think that age is important, admittedly to some people more than others. when all said and done four years is not a big gap compared to a lot of other people but maybe you personally feel it IS to big. i rambling now, basically my point is that asking every person you ever meet will not help, you have to decide yourself. the main thing is not to take life too seriously & have fun. good luck with it all.

Age really is just a number, my b/f is 6 years younger than me, my grandmother was 11 years older than my grandfather (they were married for over 65 years) and my b/f's mother was 3 years older than her husband (he died or they would still be married now)

Age aint nothing but a number, go for it! he could be the right one. and the only way you'll find out is if you give it a chance and see what happens. at the end of the day you're both adults. Just take one day at a time.

no, when the age difference is not so big (like she's 19, he's 50 or vice-versa) you can go for it.
what if he's 5 years younger if he behaves like a mature man?
don't worry about this. i know you may have considered that age was the issue of your past relationship, but it's not like that. there are other reasons that determine people to break up (like differences of culture, interests, tastes...etc)

You are right age is nowt but a number, go with your heart, this guy obviously pushes all the right buttons, you have feelings for him whats the problem - live it up age means absolutely nothing in this life, it is the person and their qualities that count...

you should do what makes you happy, and not sit there and label things w/ a number. (but dont be like those teachers who sleep w/ teenagers). It's good to have limits, but even viewing age as a number, there is nothing wrong w/ M:31 and F;35 etc..

I agree that age has nothing to do with it, if you have strong feelings for him and he has for you then go for it happiness means more then age and anyway he's only 4 years younger then yourself. No-ones ever attracted to the persons sex are they? its the person them self that you full for life too short grab as much happiness you can get. and if you really do like him grab him before some-one else does or you will regret it later on. wish you all the luck and happiness. x
