No and thanks for asking the question, because if you hadn't I was going to :-) I am sick of hearing about him, does it matter what happened? No! Many soldiers are dying everyday. Just because he chose to quit football and go to Iraq, who cares, lots of men and women leave a lot more important things behind like children and family. But they don't get the spot light or the attention he did. I am really sick of hearing about it. He died whether it was friendly fire or not the outcome is the same. Move on and focus on getting our soldiers home.

No, but then again, Pat Tillman was a unique case, and the Army was holding him up as a model citizen soldier.
Pat left the NFL and a multimillion dollar contract in order to go fight for his country. He chose training for the Rangers, which guaranteed him that he would see combat. He shunned attention while in the Army, saying that he was now just a soldier, and should be treated as one.
Whatever you believe regarding politics, the war in Afghanistan, you have to admit - Pat Tillman was always true to himself.

Probably not. However, it is fair to say that Pat Tillman was an extraordinary soldier for obvious reasons, an NFL player that quit football to join up and fight for his country.
It is rare indeed when a celebrity goes in to the armed forces for any reason. I think the last celebrity was Elvis and he got his fair share of media attention.
Naturally, when Tillman was killed in action it was big news and when it turned out it was friendly-fire it exploded.
I hope that most folk respect his service and do not think he was "stupid" for saying no to football and yes to his country.

No disrespect to Tillman or his family...but this war, like everything else in the US is all about sensationalization. The media could make a story out of nothing...so when a modern day hero like Tillman comes along...they are licking their chops! Sad, but true...

No and I don't think it is right. It is painting a bad view of the military in the media for no reason. Men and women are killed by friendly fire all the time during a hot gun fight. They have been for centuries. There is a saying called the fog of war. You don't know what is happening you just shoot and if one of your own steps in the way you can't always stop your fire in time. I personally am sick of hearing about Tillman.

Tillman was an exceptional person, but way too much time and concern being spent on it. Friendly Fire is a part of any war, sad as it is.

that's a sturdy possibility. conceitedness and stupidity at the instant are not tolerated in wrestle. i grew to become right into a device gunner in Viet-Nam and with the help of twist of destiny, witnessed numerous "Hits" interior of our unit. many times for some stupid reason like, "i % to screw your sister," whilst finding at pictures from residing house, or because of fact somebody would not such as you, or "Fragging" an officer pulling rank which regarded needed on the time. somewhat lame motives. yet to report those crimes grew to become into extremely risky. We have been all in survival mode and purely wanted to get in the process the crap alive. the excellent adventure grew to become right into a entire innovations f**ok. that's complicated to declare what might have exceeded off for the reason that there's a strict code of silence each of ways as much as the brass. i'm constantly saddened with the help of all and sundry dying in wrestle yet, "war is Hell."

No, of course not. I imagine lots of troops die, and real skinny is never known. Over 20 years in the Army taught me that the chain-of-command is particularly adept at CYA (Cover Your A$$) tactics.

Nope. But another soldier wasn't a pro football player who quit that high paying job to serve his country.
That is the story....
