In a previous question, many of you absolved God of responsibility. If he exists, he should prevent this act. Even if it means you don't have free will.

In reality there is no free will.

Not of this world: HE SHOULD BE! Don't YOU get it?

Williamzo: I choose a world where babies don't get raped. I don't care if I have no free will.

Shaolt: Hell yes I'd prefer to be a machine than allow babies to get raped. What are you, a monster?

CMW: "Why is it that you don't want to take responsibility for your own behavior? "
-- I do want to. Why do you think I don't?

"You don't believe in God, but you think that He (who does not exist) is responsible for what you do. This is such tortured logic that it boggles the mind."
-- It would be if I thought that, but I don't. I'm an atheist.

Awesome question! Personally it is not my will to rape babies, so I'd gladly give up the ability to make that decision if it meant no children would ever be hurt that way again, and I think most people would agree with me--why doesn't God put it to a vote?

Why won't you take responsibility for your own behavior? That's what free will means. The one who commits the crime or sin is the one responsible and the one who will be judged.

You don't believe in God, but you think that He (who does not exist) is responsible for what you do. This is such tortured logic that it boggles the mind.

Edit: Re your addional question about why I think you're not taking responsibility. Because neither you nor I can have it both ways. Your post states that if God exists, He should take responsibility. Him, not the rapist?

Also, no one requested and got permission to have free will. Free will is something you were born with, just like me. You make your choices, I make mine. Hold yourself accountable for yours and I will do the same.

No one can MAKE another person do, or not do, anything. It's just not possible. Sin must be allowed to be as sinful and disgusting as it can possibly get so that we will know just what it is God has delivered us from, and thus how great His grace is. It's tragic, and we all suffer from it. This is a tough question because I wish He'd just stop it all too. But I rest knowing that God can take that act and raise that child up to be a very strong advocate for Him, even if it doesn't always happen that way. But all things work together for the good of those who love Him, even these most hideous of things. Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound? May it never be! BUT, God will punish those who do these things, and it is better for them that they were never born.

Oh God.

I truly feel for you and your well being.

How do you know that your comments to misslead people from religion or mormonism or anything like that are not causeing people to go in wrong directions?

I am a Mormon and I know you really disslike us from of some of are beliefs and your comments which half the time are wrong or incorrect.

You cannot prevent the will of men. The will do it in public and private. This life is short and those who do these things will be hel accountnable in the day of judgement.

You will be held accountable for rude, obnoxious and studid ?'s and answers.

I hope you open your eyes.

Many Christians argue that evil exists because of the fact of humanity's unfastened will. God deems unfastened will a extra physically powerful stable than the prevention of suffering. Does this advise that stepping in, calling for help, or in any way intervening to quit a rape or mugging is a sin? Afterall, those strikes attempt to cut back suffering on the fee of unfastened will. continuing this extra, is it sinful to incarcerate criminals and thereby limit their unfastened will? How approximately locking doorways or safekeeping valuables? those strikes interfere with the unfastened will of people who could want to thieve from us. If God unearths the unfastened will to be so substantial that even He won't interfere with it, then certainly this is going to be sinful for us to realize this.

What makes you think that removing free will would prevent the rape of babies? If we are nothing but puppets, the puppetmaster can make us do anything, including the said rape of babies.

Free will allows those of us who object to do something about the few of us who don't.

Of course there is free will. I can make choices, I can execute those choices. If there is a deity who knows what will happen that would be omniscience - an entirely different concept.

It is mankind's free will that will allow Him to stop abortion or provide a place for unwanted children.so maybe the question should be why doesn't man use His free will to outlaw it.the baby does not ask fore this treatment it is over powered by the offender and when one of these offenders are caught how long do they stay in jail???? 99% of the time its not long. Its man who fails here not God

Raping babies is free-will now???
i've always labeled it violent abuse, not free-will.

What free-will does the four year old have when a drunken step-father cannot keep it in his pants?

People confuse freedom for license to do whatever they wish without consequence. True liberty is having the unfettered opportunity to do what ye KNOW is right.

I'm not a god-believer, but it would make better sense to me for god-believers to say that God does not meddle in the affairs of man because of a kind of cosmic Prime Directive of non-interference. But they don't. They somehow believe that God not only takes a personal interest in the affairs of man but also intervenes from time to time when he feels like it. That doesn't make sense to me. Why would God take time out of his day to make sure that one person got the pay raise, or job, or cure that she was praying for, or "bless" this country or that, and yet ignore all the wars and unspeakable crimes being committed in the world?

You distort the truth - in your finite mind, you see your life as being possibly 70 years then you die. God sees it differently. life is eternal, (you will continue to exist somewhere) and allows things to happen that we do not understand, but there is punishment for those who disobey

Matt 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
