This is from an Islamic point of view : As human beings we have a huge responsibility in this world. Unlike animals or God's other creations, we are are able to think logically and differentiate between what's right and wrong and we have the free will to choose between right and wrong. We are God's most special creation. God even asked the angels to bow down to Adam when he was first created. The angels asked Him why should be bow down to your creation whose descendants will cause mischief in the world, while we the angels are constantly praising and praying to you? God told them that He knows best and then the angels bowed to God's most special creation.. the human being.
