I have a 2 day stop over in Amsterdam. I want to see a bit of the city. What can I do and where should I go? I will be getting a hotel in the city centre. I dont want to go anywhere out of the city.

Thanks

When I'm in Amsterdam, I like to to go the Rijkmuseum, it has a fantastic collection of art by major artists. Also, the Van Gogh Musuem has one of the best collections of his works. The Anne Frank house is a must - the place of safety for her and her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands.
On a more social and fun note, the Heineken Brewery offers tours and free beer at the end. And a visit to the famous red light district is a requirement. I also like to wander through the famous flower market. If you have enough time, take a ride on the boats that navigate the canals. This is a great way to see more of the neighborhoods of the city.
Nightlife in Amserdam is one of the best in the world.
Getting around the city on their tram system is easy, efficient and cheap.
