Proverbs 28:1--The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
As Christians we are in right standing w/ God (righteous)
& there is no need to fear.
Psalm 23:4--Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me....
1John 4:4--the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
I was once very timid & fearful, but by faith in God & His Word, I have learned not to be afraid. The more you read & study the Bible & believe, the less things like this bother you.
God bless.

Yes. The assurance you have in Him is amazing when you think about it. I used to be afraid to share my religion with people, but then I found that verse in the bible (John 15:20) where Jesus tells us that we will be persecuted because He was persecuted first and then in Matthew 5:10 it says it is a blessing to be persecuted for our righteossness. It's hard not to be shy about something that people dissagree with you about, but if you just remember that Jesus has been through it and He understands what you are going through and we are doing this for the Awesome God who came to earth and died a very painful death, when He didn't have to, but He did it because He loves you and wants you to have an awesome life and go out there and share with others how awesome He is so the Heavens can rejoice and someday when you make it there, He will say, "Well done my good and faithful servant!" Just think about that and remember how exciting that day will be and go out there on the frontlines of the war and fight for Him!

God has only left us with two rules, "Love Me and love each other". The rest of what settles for religion is a manmade system of social and political control complete with a man written Bible to use as the "word of God" that is used to control every aspect of people's lives. People go to war and kill and die for the stupidest things because whatever religion is dominant in that country tells them this is God's will. It matters not what religion it is, all are violent and vicious and keep people following out of fear of some Supreme Being who will harm them, punish them, kill them, burn them. Don't rely on God to make you brave, the use of God's name is just a way that men make other men into fools.
EDIT: and the message that follows is a perfect example.

He doesnt "make" you brave. He gives you the tools to have courage - it is up to you to use them and work your faith
2 Tim 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
1 Ch 28:20 ...Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

Jesus said many times, "Do not fear." When God is for you who can be against you? Even death as David said it "has no sting" because absent from the body present with the Lord. The closer you get to God the stronger faith becomes.
There is nothing wrong with asking God to increase your faith.
There is nothing wrong with saying "God I believe, but help my unbelief."

No, I get my courage from myself and general knowledge about whatever the situation is that is scary. Believe in yourself, because you are the only one who is going to be there there for you when sh*t hits the fan
...(Just an example) I'm currently deployed in Afghanistan and despite the things that have happened here I have not once been afraid.
another example: I've totaled two vehicles and I am not scared to drive because of that...some people might be after getting into two really bad accidents, but I know my abilities when it come to driving and I've learned from past mistakes.

Being timid is good... think of it as peaceful.
There is nothing to be gained by being a heavy-handed Bible thumper...
Bravery is in your heart - so to speak.
A firm belief in one's religion is supposed to give them inner strength and hope... the bravery is entirely up to you.
Good Luck and be happy.

Well I don't know if he makes me brave, but I do know that when I am being a coward and pray for courage. I think he blesses me with it.

Shouldn't it? What have you got to lose? If you're a true Christian, you have no fear of death. What is left?
I'm not Christian.
