I have a female friend we have been tight for ages we talk and text mostly everyday she knows that i fancy someone but does not know its her i am worried about telling her as if she knocks me back i may lose her friendship

Don't tell her 'shes the one'. Tell her that you do like someone but you'd prefer that you date her! She'll be like omg i'm sorry we're just friends, then u can just say well thats fine i'll persue this other person. You don't really have to persue them, just say you lost interest in them or something if she says no. If she says yes then you're golden. You can't lose, and you'll remain friends either way. But if you remain interested in her, and cannot shake the thoughts then it will interfere with up and coming relationships. So be careful.

well nothing ventured nothing gained... You gotta come out clean and tell her if you really like her..Who knows? maybe she likes you too?
