Last night my parents got into a fight. my mom called the cops trying to get my dad arrested for domestic violence.long story short everyone of my brothers and me told the truth and my mom went to jail for domestic battery. She said she was not guilty and wants us to say she is innocent when she goes to court. I dont know what to do. I dont want this to be in my moms record but I dont want my dad to get in trouble.

Tell the truth on what happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What reasons made your mom go off?
Make sure that you give both sides of the story.
Don't sugar coated it for either parent.
They both have faults!!! Just because you want one parent to be a certain way doesn't always make it so. So make sure you are not fantising about one parent over the other.
Example: One daughter thought her dad was wonderful because he was always good to her. Even when he was drunk all the time. He always gave her money and let her do what she wanted, but in relality, he left her to run around the race track by herself while he drank and lost all his money.
She hated her mother her for moving out, because she left her dad, because of the drinking and abuse. Her mother was a waitress and did not make alot of money , when she left , she left with the shirt on her back and told her told she would be back to get her. Her father had threaten the mother , if she tried to get her , he would kill them both. The daughter did not know this at the time and still doesn't believe it. The older sisters believed there mother , the youngest one did not so what is the truth. Make sure you have the facts of both sides.. Not the lies both parents tell.

It's ok to tell the truth.

If this is the first time your mother was arrested for something like this, it will likely be erased from her record.

Meanwhile, i see you are concerned... BOTH your parents probably need to seek therapy.... divorces can become nasty and people react with great emotion, instead of using their heads to THINK first.

Tell your mother you are very concerned for her, and would like to see her get some sort of help so that she can learn to cope through this divorce. Sometimes kids have to take on the role of "adult".

I know how difficult it is to go through a parent's divorce... my parents made total idiots of themselves (especially my father) when they were divorced, 30 years ago. It's not worth the agony... they can get through it without fighting and causing bigger problems.

i hope your parents get help.. take care of YOU hon... sorry to hear this happened.

tell the truth. if it was your mother that assulted your father, then she needs to accept responsibility. she cant expect you and your siblings to lie. that is wrong in and of itself. if you start lying because your mom asked you to, what is she going to do next? it is best to tell the truth. if you have to go to court, you cant change what happened or change your mind to suit your mother's needs. you have to tell the truth in court, you and your siblings are sworn in to tell the truth.....
it was your mother's fault calling the police and trying to lie to them in the first place. your mother is totally wrong, especially putting you and your siblings in this situation. go to a friend's house or grandparents, another member of your family's until the whole mess is over and your parents settle down.

Dang. That really sucks. You should find a friends house to stay at until things clear up a bit. My father just went psyco one night and left.. never hear from/saw him again.

Do what's terrific on your husband and daughter. in the event that they don't look to be comfortable with that, then they don't would desire to take part on your lives anymore. of direction no person needs that to ensue in any respect, yet whilst they'd't be clever, then what selection do you have? you would be unable to enable them to rule your lives.

If asked by anyone official, you just tell the truth. You don't make anything better if you lie.
