A birds nose is called a nose or more properly, but not commonly, a nare. It is located on it's beak or bill.

If its a budgie you are after their nostrils are called Cere's. If it relatively old you can tell the sex by the colour. Blue for a boy and pink for a girl. However the colour doesnt develope until the are about (i think) 6 months old. You will also be able to tell their age by their eyes. if there is no ring they are also young and again the rings on their head, if there are lots close to the beak down the forehead they are also young.The beak is what they eat with.
