If Islam is the religion of peace...?

ALL of the Middle East countries Islamic..... Why is there more violence there than the rest of the world which is Catholic, Jewish, Hindu, or Buddist? Why are Jews not kill themselves in the name of god? Or buddists in the name of Buddah? or catholics in the name of christ? I am curious...

1) USA and its allies are attacking and invading the countries which have people living there who call themselves muslims

2) Islam is a religion of peace and is also a way of life, it has answers to all questions...that is why islam teaches that if your property/family/lives and wealth are under risk from hostiles - you can defend yourself - but only in order 2 repel the transgressors

This question doesn't really deserve a serious answer, but here goes anyway...

Buddhists do kill themselves in the name of Buddhism - in Sri Lanka. Catholics waged a long terrorist war in Ireland and the UK. Jews in Israel have waged an ongoing war against the land's Palestinian inhabitants. George W. Bush conscripts Protestant Christianity to justify his vision of America's imminent destiny in the world. The thing all of these examples have in common is that when religion comes into contact with global geopolitics, it almost always results in violence. That is what is happening at present in the Middle East.

Islam is neither more nor less peaceful than any other religion. Like any other faith, it can be conscripted for political ends. But the important thing is the politics, not the religion. Of course, there will always be those who do not want to hear this, because it suits them to believe that Islam is necessarily a religion of violence.

A good part of this has already been answered, I'll just make our answers complete with a few more facts.

Jerusalem was always a place where Muslims, Christians and Jews fought. In the past there was no need, under Muslims' rule, everyone could come to to live in Jerusalem, as long as he respects the Muslims, and everyone could come on the pilgrimage. And everyone knows how did this change...Today also a khaalephah isn't the ruler of Palestine.

There are 2 very important things to know:
1. Islam forbids the killing of innocent civilians, wherever and whoever they may be, in absolute terms.

2. And then, nobody can't judge any religion except by its teaching. Although this is so obvious, many don't think about this. They hear on TV about a man who blew himself. The first thing someone thinks about is :'And this is what Islam teches?!' Of course the answer is NO! Islam isnt' what a terrorist does on his own, Isalm what's presribed by Allaah' True Words - The Noble Qur'an. And nothing else.The second intersting thing is this: everything what's left from that man, the suicide bomber is nothing a but a bit dust and warm air. How can you recognize if a man was Muslim or Christian or Jew or or or...after a few kg of explosive exploded on his skin?!?!?! It is too hard to think about each case, so wha shouldn't someone say like this: 'Lets put this on Muslims' account! ' . And as long as there are people who use their heads only in a beauty saloon, this'll work! This should be clear: YOU CAN KNOW ISLAM ONLY IF YOU WHAT'S ISLAM'S TEACHING. And what is Islam teaching teaching?

Islam is strictly against terrorism. No single Muslim can't change Islam, and on anyway validate his acts:

''this day have I perfected your religion for you, completed my favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion'' [Qur'an, 5:3] Islam is perfected 1400 years, Allah's Word to the mankind is revelaed, whoever dares to change it, plays on the false ground...

very good question, I urge you to read the Qu'ran, Hadiths, and ask your local shieks or Imams to learn more.

(1) The muslims are not ruled under Islam, espcially in the Middeast, instead they are ruled by fake democracy and some even have socialist elements. Soo that is not even Islamic and in Islam we do not take our peoples culture and fuse it with religion to make a new group, if those who do are going the wrong way.

(2) To kill even a single person, that has not done anything wrong (innocent), I'm not quoting it perfectly, but in the Qu'ran it say's:
if a person were to kill (innocent) it is if he has killed all of mankind.
it also talks about saving a person, say's something like this:
if a person were to save a person (innocent), it is if he has saved all of mankind.
This clearly shows that life is very valued.

(3) Suicide is forbidden, even if one's life had been destroyed , example like during a war if you lost all your family members,
or relatives, that doesn't mean you can try to escape.
read the quran, hadiths and look for videos about this topic in youtube.com and other places like islamtube.com

(4) I'm a south asian muslim, and I'm not saying just because that the middleast has prob with socialists like goverments, that clamie that they are a democracy, doesn't mean I say that
asian muslim countries are the same. no we have another iggnorant probleam, we have nationalistic stupid kind of goverments that rule and same time claime they follow democracy and also follow islam.

The crusades were based on it.

Anyone who believes Islam is a "religion of peace" has not read the Quran/Koran. It teaches to "spread by the sword." People must convert or be punished by death. They also believe that by killing a infadel (anyone who is not muslim) it is actually Allah doing the killing and not them and they will be rewarded in heaven with sex orgies.
